Primus the sell out !

voiceofreason 2024-09-12 15:51:29

This warrants investigation. Primus must never play for ABF again. Yes the ball was slippery but no other bowler bowled this atrociously:

end of over 12
23 runs • 1 wicket
BR: 104/3
CRR: 8.66 • RRR: 9.12 • Need 73 runs from 48b
David Miller
8 (4b 2x4)
Rovman Powell
4 (5b)
Roshon Primus
1-0-23-1
Imad Wasim
3-0-18-0
11.6
4
Primus to Miller, FOUR runs
and the over finally comes to an end, capped off by an unacceptable misfield! Full and wide outside off. Miller does Primus a favour by reaching out to it and knifing it towards short third. Amir, for some reason, moves out of the line and lets in four!

11.6

Primus to Miller, (no ball)
oh goodness gracious me - this is unlike anything I have ever seen! Another high full toss bowled a mile outside off. A bit of a No ball check and the No ball has been signaled. Free hit again...

11.6
1w
Primus to Miller, 1 wide
another full toss that is definitely beyond the tramlines and perhaps the cut strip too. But it went beyond the cut strip after it passed the popping crease and has been called a wide

11.5
4
Primus to Miller, FOUR runs
thank you very much, says David Miller! Slot ball outside off. Miller plants his front foot and bangs it over mid off. Up and running!

11.5
1nb
Primus to Miller, (no ball)
oh dear - this is shocking! Another wretched high full toss outside off. Miller leaves it alone and he has a Free hit to tuck into now

Miller joins his skipper. 84 needed off 50. Still two balls left in this over. And now Primus needs some running repairs on his shoe. This over goes on and on....

11.4
W
Primus to de Kock, OUT
Primus gets de Kock and he has the last laugh! Sharp bumper on leg stump and de Kock will be disappointed at having missed out. Seems to be a touch rushed into the stroke, meaning that he gloves it, rather tamely, to the keeper. Easy catch for Billings and that could be a crucial moment in the game!

Quinton de Kock c †Billings b Primus 48 (30b 4x4 2x6 59m) SR: 160
Primus is taking an eternity to bowl this over

11.3
1
Primus to Powell, 1 run
full outside off. Powell comes forward and pushes it towards extra cover, who misfields but no extra run taken because long off was offering cover

11.2
1
Primus to de Kock, 1 run
low full toss wide outside off. de Kock reaches out for it and slices it towards short third, where Amir dives to his right and saves three

Billings has a chat with Primus. Surely they now need to move away from that plan? The shorter boundary is to de Kock's leg side this over

11.2
1w
Primus to de Kock, 1 wide
full, wide and beyond the tramlines again. de Kock lets it go and the umpire calls it a wide

11.1
6
Primus to de Kock, SIX runs
de Kock makes Primus pay! Half-tracker outside off and de Kock latches onto it. Rocks back and pounds it onto the roof over deep backward square leg!

Primus to de Kock, (no ball)
Primus' radar is certainly not on point. Another full toss a mile outside off and there is another No ball check - this time for the height of the full toss. And the No ball is given now. A pretty ordinary start by Primus...

11.1
1w
Primus to de Kock, 1 wide
another wild delivery outside off. Almost on the adjacent strip and the umpire has to indulge in some more exercise. They are checking if this is a No ball because of it being outside the cut strip. It was, but the ball was beyond the popping crease when that happened. Just a wide, despite the umpire initially signaling a No ball

11.1
1w
Primus to de Kock, 1 wide
length delivery way outside off. Left alone by de Kock and called a wide

Probably the longest over in a T20. For sure in the CPL.

voiceofreason 2024-09-12 15:52:20

Ambie was pissed. ABF deserves better.

Why don't you cry to the Indians dem that own the team to go out and buy better players?

I forget about he but i go leave he for now. Keep him on the radar.

2nd time Primus pull that stunt!

He also dropped de Kock on naught.

That now infamous over yielded 23 runs for the return of one wicket. Considering that an over with 6 legal deliveries could (easily) go for 36 runs, the net effect is not all that bad.

Sure, it was ugly watching, but things could've been worse.

that's just Primus = he will give you boo boos

he dropped Colin Munro in a CPL final
Munro went on to be the only batter standing and won it for his team

ah well

dayne 2024-09-12 18:38:01

on reflection it looked suspicious, it looked like Primus had an arrangement with someone like a bookie. Even if the ball was slippery a bowler should not miss the entire pitch so many times.

In reply to dayne

nah i think he was genuinely not able to control

dont go there

I don’t know why it’s so hard for some people to accept that Primus is a mediocre cricketer.
