That's the way West Indies batted..... aggressive....our batters nowadays, with all bodygears ducking and running away...

its shameful. its like we never had the best players of fast bowling(viv and sobers) and the best player of spin(BCL) playing for our team not so long ago. but when you have a lack of commitment to standards like the wicb/wicbc/cwi/whateverthehelltheycallthemselves, even if you're light years ahead of everybody like the west indies were, you're product will always end up diminishing. we have a big problem in the west indian societies, we always focus on what we can't do not on what we can do. to quote one of our local writers, Eric Williams, The Manleys and co didn't die for this

The helmet takes away some important peripheral vision from a batter. It may sound foolish but one has less of a chance getting hit without a helmet.

My understanding.......the present team batters are being coached to curb their natural shots..... the coaching system from regional territories to West indies team needs overhauling.......Say what you may......we have enough talents..... it's just matter of harnessing....

doesen't mean those guys weren't great at spin, but to spin bowling, lara was simply unmatched. Both Holding and Ramiz Raja have saib brian lara was the best player of spin they've ever seen, and that is quite a statement from Raja who would have seen not only dudes like, kali, miandad, gavaskar up close or as a fan

And I add looking back, Hoops did it, in my opinion, with the most ease. Just would always find a way to get out.

How many did get hit?
Some got bruised evading the ball but these helmet hits are middling the head.

They don’t have what a particular West Indian had, concrete head was his nickname.
