nitro 2024-09-17 23:48:25

Villa made you happy I see.

Bayern did a hammering. I want Kane to go without a team trophy but I want success for Kompany!

In reply to Halliwell

And it was a big win for Villa too....

Young Boys 0-3 Aston Villa

Bayern Munich 9-2 Dinamo Zagreb
Real Madrid 3-1 Stuttgart

Well that’s a conundrum Kane v Kompany

I’m sure Kompany will understand and eventually jettison Kane. ‘Anybody’ can score those tap-ins lol

City are now languishing in the bottom eight and are in danger of not advancing to the knockout stage.

The final league round is next week, with Liverpool sitting top of the table, and Arsenal looking set for a top eight finish, both avoiding the playoffs. Aston Villa seem to have secured a playoff place, despite this week's loss.

It's mathematically possible, but it's hard to see an ageing City team scoring two unanswered goals in Madrid....

mikesiva 2025-03-04 11:11:42

I think Walker wanted to leave, because at 34 the pace is a little less fast in Italy, and because of the English tabloid soap opera around his wife and girlfriend!

The knockout resumes today with four matches:

Dortmund vs Lille
PSV Eindhoven vs Arsenal
Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid

mikesiva 2025-03-05 09:08:54

Looks like the 3 English teams have the edge on making the quarter finals.

Skelly needs to have more composure on some of those tackles - luckily the wing back is one place with depth (Skelly, Timber, Calafiori, Zinchenco, Tierney and Ben White - though I get scared anytime I see Kiwior warming up)

Slot played his big team on Saturday against last placed Southampton and his players looked tired against PSG tonight.

Poor squad management cost Liverpool. They could have played their small men on Saturday and save the legs for Champions league. Coming top of the group stage now counts for nothing.

nitro 2025-03-12 00:56:10

Spot on. The lead in the EPL is so significant he could have used his second 11 last weekend.

And arguably in the most important match of the season, Konate and TAA breakdown and Darwin Nunez (the less we say about him the better) looked so match un-fit. Anything Darwin touched looked beneficial to PSG.

'Footballing architect' - how Luis Enrique led PSG to brink of glory

Why?

Described by those within PSG as "a footballing architect", Luis Enrique seized his chance, convincing club president Nasser al-Khelaifi and football advisor Luis Campos that he could build a younger, better, more cohesive side in the post-Mbappe age.
And so it has proved, as now only a formidable Inter Milan team stand between this thrilling young PSG side and the crown they crave most, the Champions League.
PSG, fuelled by brilliant young talents such as 19-year-old Desire Doue and Georgian genius Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and inspired by Luis Enrique, who has known such tragedy and triumph in his life, have become a genuine Champions League feel-good story on the pitch.
