welcome to match 20.
We're back again in Port of Spain as Trinbago Knight Riders take on Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
The Falcons have won only two of their eight games this season, but importantly, one of those came against TKR. Can they do the season double and keep their very slim qualification chances alive?
......
One positive for the Falcons is that they've won the toss.
They've opted to chase and have made three changes from their loss on September 15.
TKR will therefore bat first.
...
Lets clip dem falcons wings early...
so they can only walk on the ground , not fly...
...
TKR will therefore bat first. King, James and Khan come into the Falcons XI.
TKR bring in Jordan and Little.
Wagon ready ...lets go TKR...
Let's go Falcons

Yes he is! Did not see the entire innings.
Springer: "I was practicing pretty hard before this tournament. My death bowling has improved for sure. The yorkers and the slower balls. Getting the wicket of Pollard, the big-hitter, was a boost in my confidence. Tricky wicket, need a good powerplay."
8.43pm TKR have Pollard to thank for this score. Otherwise, they were staring at a sub-120 total. His 37-ball 47, including the 22-run 19th over, has ensured their bowlers have some target to bowl at. A total of 60 dots in this innings. Springer (2/2 and Green (1/14) were impressive. Allen's 2/13 in two overs was also an excellent spell. Can the Falcons chase this down and keep their slim playoff chances alive?

Yatin: "Imad Wasim had left the field of play, that should be the done deal!As long as he does not leave the field, he would be fine, but once you leave the field, you should be given OUT." -- I think as long as the next ball isn't bowled, one should be allowed to change the decision to make the correct call
Andye: "Woah, unbelievably long delay. Just make a decision and move on!!"
There is precedent for the player to return. It happened in an international match in England.
The rationale was dat the final decision was not out and dat superseded anything else

important six! Just eases the pressure. Whippy flick off this waist-high full toss and it travels across the night sky. Umpires are checking for a no-ball, but they deem it a legal ball. Touch and go...

Little to Allen, 2 runs
full ball just outside off. Goes for an expansive slog, and the ball ends up high in the night sky. Pooran chases after it for a catch, but it lands safe at around square leg, a few metres away from Pooran diving
Interesting.... Greaves gets a pat on his back on the way out but this is clearly a strategic call to get a better hitter out there
Falcons need 15 runs in 10 balls.
Interference...

Little to Imad Wasim, 6 runs
Shades of ODI World Cup final 2019! full and wide outside off. Toe-ended to long on, and the they try to take two. Jordan throws it from the deep, but it hits Imad's bat inadvertently, and then runs away for four more behind the keeper. TKR are asking if the deflection was intentional or not and have taken a review. Looks fine to be honest. He hadn't changed his direction, so...that's two + four = six! Pollard sarcastically claps at Imad Wasim

Yes ! ABF has their number ! 2 in 2! Did what GAW could not do! Beat TKR in their backyard!
Still along shot for the playoffs as they have to win their last game and hope that SLK, TKR or GAW lose most if not all their remaining games which is highly unlikely!

BIGLY
Pollard was clearly not happy with certain aspects of the game. Memorable quote there from him: "if I speak, I will get into trouble", followed by Green's "chaos, absolute chaos" to sum up the proceedings. Thanks for your company for this topsy-turvy game. See you tomorrow for more action.
Losing captain Pollard: "I think they played well. (10th over of the chase) If I speak, I will get into trouble. We'll go, look back and practice and come back."
Winning captain Green: "Really proud of our effort. Really proud of how we bowled. Except my drop of the last ball, we fielded really well. The way Hassan and Greaves batted, killed the game. We go to Guyana to show what we can do. The word is 'heart, character', it's easy to roll over and there was talk we'd roll over and bow down to these guys, but we showed they are beatable. They are dangerous with good players but they are beatable. (10th over) Chaos, absolute chaos. I don't know what went on. And then we had a Ben Stokes incident as well. Really happy with the win, think we outplayed them in all departments."
Greaves is the Player of the Match: "To win at Queen's Park Oval is a special thing. We haven't had a great season but to beat TKR twice is good. Just happy with how things panned out. To get the win against Trinidad in Trinidad... their fortress... feels good. We have to take one game at a time. You never know..."
10.41pm Falcons do the double over TKR this season and keep their slim playoff chances alive. A lot happened tonight, some arguments, some heated moments, a lot of confusion at times, but eventually, good to see the two teams walk out in high spirits.
TKR would be disappointed, but their first-innings score never seemed enough. It was only Pollard's 37-ball 47 that had given them some hope, but with dew a factor here, the Falcons were always going to be favourites even if the required run rate briefly went up to an uncomfortable level. In the chase, Greaves held one end up to anchor the second innings. He was eventually retired out in the death overs to allow a better hitter to come out. But he did his bit with his 46, and Hassan's cameo of 36 was useful too. Imad Wasim ended up being the evening's protagonist with his unbeaten 36 and his solid bowling spell. Don't forget his "non-dismissal" and the "deflection" that went for four!
