Powell to Pollard, (no ball) 2 runs
Standing outside the crease. Rams the yorker, swinging in, guided to backward square and Carty is not even in the frame, no chance to get inside the crease, Powell picks it up cleanly and whips off the bails. Well, he the ball bursts out and he disturbs the stumps with his hands and then the ball hits it later so the umpires need to check. The ball rebounded off the hand and then the stumps were disturbed. Carty is reading to take his seat in the dug out. Confusing one for the umpires. Ball eventually hit the stumps, and bail was removed. It's a no ball though. And, to my surprise, this is not adjudicated as out. The bails were lit up even up the first contact was with the hands. The second bail was dislodged moments later when the ball came into contact with the stumps so not sure why is it NOT OUT. Long chat between on-field umpire and third umpire. The umpire signals free hit
NO ball called...

TKR 175-7 FROM 20
.....
They've huffed and puffed their way to 175/7, which looks like a respectable score. The slower deliveries have been quite effective. Expect a fierce tussle that might go down to the wire. Decent contributions from Carty, Pollard, and Russell have put them in a good position. The bowlers were a bit inconsistent but Maheesh Theekshana did a remarkable job, always coming back after being hit for boundaries and finishing his spell with three wickets. Holder was economical and Naveen was special as always with his bag of tricks, even though the wet ball didn't make things easy. I'm going to grab a quick cup of tea and take a short walk. I'll be back soon and look forward to your delightful company!

Over the wicket, faster and slightly shorter at middle and leg, he tries again, wanted to smear him over deep square and gets plenty of height but just not enough distance, Roy takes a few steps to his left and reverse cups it like a routine chore, second catch for him tonight. Hosein to Wickham, 2 runs
Given some air, higher trajectory, lured him with extra bit of flight and he goes for a big shot; whacked with gusto towards midwicket and Tim David leaps into air and manages to flick it back inside the rope and saves a six but sadly falls heavily on the ground and got hurt on the head and is lying down, getting some medical attention. It was a stupendous effort, jumped full-stretch and made a valiant save. Good news, he is up and looks okay, replenishing his fluids

Trinbago Knight Riders
175/7
Barbados Royals
(20 ov, T:176) 145/9
Trinbago won by 30 runs
This has to the best crowd ever witnessed in a CPL game ever. Well done TKR.
Knight Riders win by a hefty margin of 30 runs and look like a formidable unit before the playoffs. They have one more game left in the group stage while Barbados Royals finish 4th on the table after playing 10 games. The Royals weren't in control in their attempt to chase down the total; Athanaze batted well and looked fluent, and Miller got going too, but nobody could finish the innings and they crumbled under pressure towards the end. Akeal Hosein is an aberration; he seldom errs in his lines and lengths and is a specialist in the powerplay, often setting the tone upfront with tight overs. Once again, he delivered an incredible spell, making life easier for the other bowlers. Pollard, Jordan, and Hinds kept their end of the bargain, and as a team, they were clearly the better side today
Akeal Hosein, Player of the Match: When we got here just walking around it was pretty wet so we knew what was the challenge. (de Kock) is a world class player, so I definitely enjoyed his wicket. (on his caught and bowl) last game I put down Johnson Charles, he (captain) told me it cost me his runs plus my runs in the match so I gave the captain a stare today and let him know I got this one. It's a good feeling (to win). Last game on home soil, pretty special and outstanding and we go to Guyana where it's crunch time now; definitely looking forward to it. This win will give us a lot of confidence and boosted us going into the back half of the tournament. I am pretty proud of the bowling unit today. I think we had an all-round team performance.
