Illegal bats

How in this day and age when you buy bats from reputable shops if you don’t get them officially from top manufacturers…you want to cry when you try to cheat or don’t have internal processes to protect your club!!??

Worcestershire have received a suspended two-points deduction for the next season's Vitality Blast, after their allrounder, Josh Cobb, was deemed to have used an illegally-sized bat in their North Group match with Durham in July.

The cheek!!!

You Brits always try to push the limits, and when caught, make your above (H)excuse...

This is definitely strange. Manufacturers should know about width standardization.

I know your wood can have different fatness - for example Gayle was known for fat wood when you look at it from a side-on angle but from a width view, he was good.

Cobb/Worcestershire have an avenue to sue the bat maker because they probably were honestly thinking "when I buy a bat, it is up to spec." He shouldn't have to worry about putting it in a guage to see if the wood part would slide in and out.

Cobb is endorsed by CA which is a Pakistani bat manufacturer.

Nothing coming out from Pakistan could ever be deemed as dodgy.

Spokesperson for Gray-Nicholls

“Indeed, we have been told by another player that the gauges in use varied between the umpires during the same match. His bat was compliant for one and not for the other. So it appears that there is an issue with the gauges, not the bats.

Well well well
