He was one of the best poets and songwriters in the music business.

If you listen to any music of any kind, I am sure you've heard many of his compositions performed by others

Country is good music. Over the yrs had some damned good musicians, good writers (story-tellers) hence ballads; great lyrics.

"Sunday Morning Coming Down" is my fave too, Casper, and likely to be everybody's also. Ernie Smith did two covers of it, one in earnest and the other a parody-- pretty funny!

My lasting memory of Kris is his starring role in "Convoy", the movie from the CW McCall tearaway hit tune of 1977. I bid him adieu with many thanks for the entertainment he provided in my young adulthood. May he RIEP.
