LI Mens 50 over tourney Match Day 2
Need better scores this round:
Nevis looking good vs Antigua and Barbuda 83/0 after 16.
Cornelius 34* off 43.
Ross Powell 39* off 53.
In reply to voiceofreason
Yeah them man had a bad start yesterday and never really recovered. Their bowlers though did well to make the score kinda good looking at the end there.
Anguilla 54/2 after 16.
Chesney Hughes 18 * off 33.
Dimitri Adams 8* off 12.
Jerrickson Louis 4 overs 2/20
In reply to positiveg
That is normally the case. I expect better scores now that the nerves have settled.
Jerrickson how quick is he?
In reply to voiceofreason
Not as quick as his older brother but bowls a good line And you can see there's room still for improvement and he's got youth on his side.
In reply to voiceofreason
wait
Chesney deh bout
85/6
Anguilla falling apart now.
Chesney 36 off 54. Not good enough.
Jahmar Hamilton only 3 runs. With youngsters like Jewel and Carlon Tuckett coming up, Jahmar is my boy but he will have to score heavily. Two failures already.
In reply to doosra
Yes good to see he has returned but at 33 time is running out for him. Will do well to break into the Leewards team which is on the up.
In reply to voiceofreason
he could be a good veteran presence for next gen - Mikyle, Jewel, et al.
Nevis doing well vs Antigua and Barbuda:
185/1 after 40
Ross Powell 92* off 127.
Looks like Kieran Powell done?
In reply to doosra
Yes true but he has to put up the runs first I guess.
Ross Powell gone for 95.
Nevis 191/2 after 41.1
Nevis made a good 254/5 after 50.
Ross Powell 95.
Shelton Forbes 50
Jamie Cornelius 45.
Kelvin Pittman 7 overs 2/46.
Antigua and Barbuda has a game on their hand here.
St. Kitts with a solid start vs Anguilla:
65/0 after 12.
Mkyle Louis showing his class 54 * off 42 balls.
111/0 after 16.
Miyle 92* off 62
Larry Audain 12* off 32.
Antigua and Barbuda a solid start 62/0 in reply to 254/5.
Kadeem Henry 27* off 22 balls.
Tyrone Williams Jr 27* off 25.
Mikyle Louis gone for 94 off 65 7x6 7x4.
137/1 after 20.1.
Antigua and Barbuda easily overhaul Nevis' 254/5 with a 255/3 in 41 overs. Tyrone Williams Jr carried his bat for the first century of the tournament 125* off 115 . Kadeem Henry his opening partner scored 47 before he was runout. Antigua and Barbuda now 2 in 2 while Nevis 0 from 2.
In reply to voiceofreason
Great innings by Mikyle. Dominating the bowling at this level as he should.
In reply to voiceofreason
Tyrone Williams Jr. had a lot of promise back in the day. He was one of the many affected by the lack of sub-regional tournaments. Maybe it's not too late for him.
In reply to pkriston
Tyrone Williams Jr is not the later Runarko Morton's son? Look this is what I have been advocating for a long time rhe return of the sub-regionals. We are just playing the same old guys all the time. Need competition for spots. At age 26 Tyrone still has time but for others that may not be the same.
Mikyle really dominated. Looks like it will come down to SKB vs Antigua.
He is the younger brother of Runako. Thanks for the reminder. That slipped my mind completely.
SKB and Antigua look like the two best teams easily indeed.
DAY 3:
Antigua and Barbuda vs Anguilla:
Antigua and Barbuda batting first are 112/2:
Karima Gore 44* off 47.
Essan Warner 57* off 79.
Kadeem Henry 0.
Tyrone Williams Jr 7.
Dimitri Adams
5 overs 2/20.
In reply to voiceofreason
saw somewhere a younger brother with name Tyrone Williams Jr., not son
In reply to doosra I believe Tyrone Williams Jr is related to the late Runako Morton.
Antigua and Barbuda vs Anguilla coming down to the wire!
Anguilla chasing 285 to win they are at 252/8 with Chesney at the crease needing 32 from 21!
20 from 14 balls another wicket gone! 265/9 Chesney still there but he is running out of partners!
Now 11 runs from 6 balls!
Good game. Anguilla allowed it to slip away.
In reply to voiceofreason
younger brother if same person
In reply to doosra
It is
In reply to pkriston
Yes the competition got a nice competitive game. The runout looked close but I think it was out but Chesney should not have run in the first place. Anguilla lost a game they should have won. Antigua win by 1 run:
Antigua 284/10 in 46.5.
Jewel Andrew 72 off 44.
Kofi James 53 off 53.
Essan Warner 57 off 81
Karima Gore 46 off 50.
Ashley White 3/53
Jaidel Richardson 3/62
Anguilla 283/10 in 49.4.
Chesney Hughes 78 off 54
Asharn Hodge 66 off 85.
Kesharn Richardson 52 from 92.
Kadeem Henry 10 overs 6/49.
So Antigua and St. Kitts are the only unbeaten teams left.
In reply to pkriston
