Impossible in an online setting
The design of online discourse is that you are able to hide behind the protection of the internet

In person these conversations take a different tone, seeing a real person instead of a username and a caricature of what you created changed your outlook on how to communicate

Part of it is jadedness, dissatisfaction and disillusionment, but another major part of it is single issue (perceived self interest) voters who care about nothing else but tax cuts, abortion, guns, etc. Those type will tolerate Trumps shortcomings because he will "give" them the only thing they care about.
