Match Abandoned
In reply to doosra
Official??
If abandoned, why would SLK go through to the final? On what basis? DL?
In reply to doosra
Fitting result for the organizers. The GAW fan get to see their team Friday night and hopefully Sunday too. Scalpers in dreamland!
In reply to imusic
yea they were ahead on DL 121 was target at the time
In reply to cumberland
Tahir can't seem to find a settled bowling plan
they'll need to sort that out
i don't feel the same vibe as last year
In reply to imusic
GAW lost by 15 runs DL.
SLK advanced to Final
In reply to imusic
They would cause they ahead in DL so ain't no conspiracy lol
In reply to doosra
Not sure if there’s such a thing as a “settled bowling plan” in T20
One might have a plan, but you got to adapt based on conditions, opposition, match situation etc.
Flexibility is key
In reply to doosra
Jeremy comin fuh you
Or you sayin he would prefer Hope to captain the side now?
In reply to imusic
yea i don't mean fixed plan
but at times it comes over as all over the place
Moeen has been good all season for example and today he bowled till the 12th, as one example
if you want to win you have to let your in form players come take the game on
maybe it's that bit of timidness that i have seen for quite a while
let's see what they do next game
In reply to imusic
Jeremy is crass lol

Take out one or both of Tahir and Motie and Guyana in trouble as their bowling lacks depth. 8 overs 0/69. Batting lacks a consistent opening pair. SLK exposed both tonight.
In reply to voiceofreason
Also their fast bowling has been very inconsistent
They'd do well to get to the final with this arrangement
In reply to voiceofreason
BTW
Take out one of Charles or Faf and slk in similar situation
Actually same for royals too with de kock
And same with tkr and pooran
So I suppose it's even
In reply to doosra
Disagree slightly with SLK as their batting with Tim Seifert, Wiese and Chase has been pretty decent. Rajapaksa's absence is a big loss.
Our bowling is very versatile and deep:
Aljo
Wiese
Noor
Khary Pierre
Roston Chase
Matthew Forde

Who da fcuk bowls Sheppy in the power play overs - in a big game? Brainless stuff.
But you’re spot on that GAW this year looks terribly disorganized when it comes to their team make-up and strategy.
In reply to SnoopDog
They need to bowl Shamar ahead of sheppard.
Shamar has the pace.
In reply to doosra
Should beat Royals but the Kings are good.
Another VOR year?
In reply to nick2020
i don't know if they can beat Royals with De Kock, Theekshana and Miller
but who knows,., we shall see
In reply to SnoopDog
yea that is it...you couldn't tell who will play what role, when
maybe they will find some more rhythm to it tomorrow
In reply to voiceofreason
yea but no one is scared in their shoes about Seifert, Chase and Wiese
and if they take down Noor like GAW did last night then the attack feels less threatening
so we shall see
In reply to doosra
Bowling was just plain bad last night
In reply to Curtis
yea indeed
though they pulled it back in the 2nd half
perhaps they could go a bit more pace in the top 6 and hold Motie back a bit more for the middle
there is also the option of Kevin Sinclair to give powerplay overs as he used to do so well...he comes in for Reifer
perhaps they are too spoiled for choices, albeit often expensive choices

Just catching up- saw the opening few overs, fell asleep. Cricinfo reported the SL won by DL method. The scoreboard suggest SL would have won if there was no rain?
Your headline said match was abandoned- if the match was abandoned, then GAW would have qualified ahead of SL owing to their better position in the preliminary? No?
In reply to Emir
that is the headline they had on the broadcast
In reply to Emir
who knows
Warriors biggest problem is the batting power play, unsettled opener , too much chip and chopping. They are wasting the power play.
Beside Hope and Hetty , the team struggled badly. Not one game has Hope and Hetty batted freely. Best option let Hope open , Hetty at 3
I understand they need Moeen experience in the middle.
Next year they badly needvlocal openers
In reply to Speed100
there will be a new draft next year so perhaps most of the teams will reset
not sure what the rules might look like for retention - i am guessing teams would be allowed 4 or 5 retentions / opportunities for first picks etc
In reply to doosra
Which broadcast?
For the official record, SL won by the DL method. They appeared to be the strong favorites at the time the rain intervened, judging from the scoreboard. 7 overs and 93 runs is a very stiff chase.
It is important a tournament that has taken our collective name- Caribbean, for free, their official broadcaster report the correct information, even for "official" curry goat franchise cricket owned by foreigners and with most teams having non West Indian captains.
In reply to Emir
you are no incorrect
i saw that and post right after
mistakes are ok but i hear you
Tahir has been making blunders in utilizing his seamers... He continue to open the bowling with spinners and results has been consistent multination and he don't seem to grasp that it ain't working...
The seamers should open the bowling with new ball - am sure Shamar will take wicket(s) in his opening spell...
In reply to doosra
I hope so too.
The tournament needs a shake up.
I would like to see teams like St. Kitts and Antigua with more local and foreign talent in their squads. For the last 5 years or so GAW and Shah Rukh's franchise have been hogging all the talent in this tournament.
In reply to nick2020
VOR is GAW's only hope right now!
