They said Okay.
Chinelle Henry can be one of the best alrounders in the womens game. She bats properly and looks comfortable at the wicket. Plays proper cricket strokes. Her bowling is fabulous. He seam position and ability to move the ball away is spot on. If she gets a touch quicker and learns to seams it bank in, she will be a very difficult bowler to face.

What to expect: Even with the risk of dew setting in later, which in all honesty is yet to make an impactful appearance, captains are preferring to bat first in Dubai. In five of the six games thus far at the venue, teams have opted to put up a total but only thrice have they succeeded in defending it. In all three night games here, captains have opted to bat.

NRR as the scenario of three teams finishing on 6 points look possible at this stage of the tournament. From the slow low surface of Sharjah, where New Zealand recorded a comprehensive win over Sri Lanka moments ago, we now switch our focus to Dubai where conditions appear slightly better for the batters. This will be Bangladesh's first game in Dubai, and they will be wary of the fact that South Africa won both their games here.

Nida Dar to Devine, 1 run, BIG DROP! Sidra drops it. That was sliced down the ground. Came off the toe-end. The fielder crouched a little, got hands to it and dropped it. Lot of dismay on the faces of the bowler and the fielder. But the chance goes down. Pakistan certainly need to up their game here. That was floaty outside off, Devine danced down but didn't time it at all

Crazy cricket strategy in my opinion. It would have always been hard for Pakistan to score at a run-rate of 11 runs per over, they should have concentrated on winning the game.
11.1
Amelia Kerr to Fatima Sana, out Syeda Aroob Shah Run Out!! 1 run completed. Run-out check sent upstairs. Syeda Aroob Shah looks to be gone. It looked like Aroob made it in with a dive but she is just short. Tossed up on middle, Fatima Sana clears her front leg and slices the loft, lands wide and short of Green at long-on, a flat throw after that and Aroob's dive is not enough as Amelia Kerr gets the ball on the bounce and breaks the stumps.

11.1 Dottin to Nat Sciver-Brunt, no run
huge appeal, not given! Fired in full and this finishes on leg stump. Sciver-Brunt swipes across the line and misses, getting pinged on the back leg. Might have pitched outside leg, though. And remember, WI don't have any reviews left...Replays, however, indicate that the ball pitched in line and would have gone on to the stumps. What a moment...

Pretty good. I don't think many people had us reaching that point [semis] in this tournament. Up against the odds tonight but to put up a performance like that with the bat, incredibly proud, Qiana Joseph scoring her first ever 50, what a time to do it man. Probably the first six or seven overs of our innings when batting, it did slide on a bit better. We have been chasing, we back ourselves to go out there and knock off whatever runs that is there on the board. Take tomorrow off and get right back to it. We haven't won the World Cup yet and it's gonna be a big game against New Zealand and from here every game is a big game and we are up for the challenge. Pretty close, [to perfection] I think we bowled well, we could have probably fielded better, we are peaking at the right time, hopefully we can see something even better in the semis. [on if she wanted anything more than this in her 100th T20I] Couldn't be any better, this is what I hoped for when I came in today

Oh Maia. Oh mate. This is hard to watch now. Sciver-brunt back into the attack and Joseph goes hard again, Bouchier is on the long off fence, the ball’s face-height, arriving nicely … and she grasses her third chance, hiding face, twisting lips – all the stuff we’ve all done when experiencing shame, horror and fury. Sport is hard.

Ecstatic are the Proteas while Healy and the Australians wear a glum look on their faces. Both sides entered the competition with few backing them to advance beyond the first round. Against the odds, they've quieted early skepticism by toppling the heavyweights in their groups, and now face a crucial showdown to earn a spot in the final. For New Zealand, this is their first semifinal since making the last four in 2016 while West Indies are in a semifinal for the first time since 2018.

Temperatures slightly lower than it was at the start. 73 meters down the ground, 59 and 62 to the side. Same pitch used as the first day of the tournament. Highest score on that day was 119. Afy Fletcher to Plimmer, out Stumped!! Plimmer gives it away, looked like a premeditated move to step down, maybe Afy Fletcher knew this was coming, shortens the length outside off, Plimmer misses the loft as she is not to the pitch, it turns away too and Campbelle has a simple stumping. Afy Fletcher does a little jig.

Dottin to Halliday, out Bowled!! A wicket right after a break for the 2nd time today. First Kerr now Halliday. Look at Dottin's celebration, right in Halliday's face. A fine yorker on off, Halliday tries to jam it down late and misses, the ball hits the base of off-stump. Halliday was looking so dangerous and that's a big wicket for West Indies

Alleyne to Isabella Gaze, FOUR, the over-rate penalty for West Indies as they are late. One fielder has to be inside the ring and this does not help. A low full-toss down leg, Isabella Gaze sets up for the scoop and gets it just wide of Campbelle, diving to her left. Runs away to the fence. Good start to the over for New Zealand
Alleyne shouldn't be bowling out her overs, she has been expensive.

We shouldn't have lost that match, Alleyne didn't add much in batting or bowled well except for her last over. Matthews should have bowled more.
In reply to doosra
Top order should have settled in for the deep overs especially knowing Henry not there. They could pull the trigger from 15 ovrs even if 12 per over was needed. I still believe in The Crampy Gayle approach if you know your lower order suspect. Lots of 1's n 2's were there for them
In reply to dayne
Yup, I can agree with that.
Hayley said she felt we always had it in our hands
I like Joseph opening with Matthews. These ladies need to play more matches. It is absolutely unfair for the Aussies and English to play far more often, yet our ladies punched above their weight.
In reply to Windiesfan78
Not their fault
We need to invest more and give them ladies financial security to train whole year
Hard loss
In reply to Halliwell
they are now on central and developmental contracts
for the younger ones without family commitments they would have more time to train - the Munisars, James', etc
things are moving in the right direction

Hayley has time; she will lead this team to the title in one or more of the next 3 world cups. Good talent in there. They need to find the batters to fill the Dottin and Stafanie sized voids soon.
Great bowling and just ok fielding.
The batting needs a few camps and some hard graft practice. Future is brighter than it was a couple years ago
In reply to Halliwell
yea they future is brighter for sure
i noted earlier there are several good young spinners coming thru - 2 from Trinidad, Latchman and a few others from GT, etc
what is indeed needed are some young batters

New Zealand will be very happy with this effort. 158 in a big final and they have the runs on the board in a pressure game. Plimmer and Bates at the top showed that New Zealand were up for it as they used their feet against both the seamers.
158/20
Good luck Saffies
Will be a tough chase....
Wolvaardt is on strike.
Mair will open the attack

Eden Carson to Wolvaardt, FOUR, there is the pressure-releaser. It has come from the bat of the South African skipper. Wolvaardt goes deep inside the crease, allows the shorter ball to turn and pulls it along the ground square on the leg-side
