Has scored only 2 100s since 2020! Has really lost his way in tests after being so prolific until 2019!

Number one fan Massa Narper proclaimed many years ago about Koli’s greatness and legendary status and all kinda chupidness and I spent lots of time with him asking him to temper his adulation. Koli has to fight up with the likes of Williamson and Root and Smith and Shiv before we can chat about upper tier like Viv, Tendy, Lara et al.

There is no ‘legendary’ without time.

If Indians needed to cling to a straw hero after Dhoni, I accept that. But half trini Narps is good people and I will forever exchange friendly guidance with my pardner. big grin

Virat dabs to cover-point and the crowd roars to celebrate his 31st Test fifty. He's found the runs at his adopted home. Got going in Kanpur against Bangladesh and now got crucial runs when the teams needs him badly. First some glove-love between the batters and then he raises the bat to the crowd and his teammates

Phillips to Sarfaraz, 2 runs, 100 partnership off just 101 balls! It's not one but both batters motoring along. Full delivery on the stumps, Sarfaraz gets down low and paddles it fine to fine leg

9000 Test runs for Virat Kohli - fourth Indian to reach the landmark after Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13265) and Sunil Gavaskar (10122). Of the four, he is the slowest to reach the milestone in terms of innings taken (197).

Phillips to Kohli, out Caught by Blundell!! What a timely blow from Glenn Phillips. Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz had just arrested the slide and started to quickly wipe out the deficit. Virat played so well. Blocking, driving and even sweeping. With the very final ball of the day where he looks for survival. To a flatter ball outside off that's not wicket-taking most days, he gets the faintest of edges that even UltraEdge only shows a gentle murmur. Just as India were ending the day on a high this is a huge setback. Virat sees the giant screen and grimaces. Blundell knew as soon as he caught this. Phillips knew as soon as this was caught and was jumping and fist pumping. This a dramatic end to a sensational day's cricket and the end of a great 136-run stand. Kohli c Blundell b Phillips 70(102) [4s-8 6s-1]

Viv had a spell like that too. Kohli will return. Even Lara had a lean patch of note
