I can't understand why

Hayley did not take on the power play, once you fall back that much, you lose the game

Her decisions puzzled me...Some of her key bowlers including herself had more than 2 overs each to bowl.
Too many bowlers and not enough batters in these Women's I team.
After the pedestrian reply, Dottin should have been at 3 and no lower than 4.

Hayley allowed the occasion to get to her, you have to play your game and back your self, what ever happens, happens

No, she should have decided to bat deep, deep, 55dots before over 18! When you know you have a weak tail then top order must take less risks and go deep. You realize if Joseph's, Campbell or Taylor individually or together had faced 20 more balls instead of the tail it would've been an easy win?

about 60 dot balls

just too many

perhaps Taylor could have come later

all speculation

Alleyne has given runs at crucial times all season and Hayley continues to throw her the ball

yes, but that was not the case, the best players have to stamp their authority on the game, if not ,at some point in time the situation becomes over whelming, which is what happen, yes, if Dottin stayed she would have won the game but when you are put in a position to swing at every ball without any support at the other end 9 out 10 times it will not work

Alleyne should have been looking to get Dottin back on strike rather than throwing the kitchen sink at each ball. There were far too many dots in the West Indies innings. The Kiwis ran singles and 2s and some overs went for 8 runs or so with just placing balls in the gaps.

Give them credit,
They made the semis in a tournament that no one expected them to get out of the round.

They are just like the men's team.
Outclassed by the top contenders.

At least they beat Hingland.

about 60 dot balls

That's criminal in lickit cricket.

They essentially handicapped themselves by about 10 overs.

I give them credit for sure, but with the big 3 out of the semi finals, I just think a wonderful opportunity to sneak a world title slip away

I know how you feel.
Was somehow more invested in that than I expected.

Only consolation is to accept they went further than most people expected.

It was quite an achievement to make it to the semi by beating powerhouse such as England.

Bad batting strategy cost us a final spot. Too many wickets in the first 10 overs was the downfall and our inability to take singles is worrisome, imagine if we could have just taken 8 singles somewhere in 20 overs.....

But still, really proud of our ladies and with some youngsters in the team, we can build on this.

This link explains some of our questions. We did great (better than expected) and I am proud of our ladies.
