Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Dr Kishore Shallow has revealed plans for a new domestic T20 competition in 2025, aimed at determining which team will represent the West Indies at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics (LA2cool.

Speaking on the WESN TV sports show hosted by Andre Baptiste, Shallow outlined that plans are far advanced to host the regional tournament.

“We are putting things in place to have our own T20 league which is a domestic T20 league,” said Shallow. “It is really for emerging players, but you will have senior guys as well. This is a tournament that we are going to use to find new talent and it is scheduled for May next year.

Good. My thing is the 2025 winner representing the region in the 2028 Olypica or will the 2027 team be?
Why because a lot can change between 2025 and 2028 and we would want the best team showing uo in LA. Or at least the more inform team.

Among many blunders, one of the biggest by Cameron was handing over CPL to private players....

CWI trying to wrest the initiative, by starting a league of its own.....

Slowly, but surely....this league will challenge CPL.....

Next in line CWI T10.....

Just watch the ride

I think them fellas just using it as an excuse to get a regional tournament in.

Don't make sense for a 2025 team to represent the region in the oplymic... hald of the squad might disappear by then.

Likely the ICC/IOC will make that determination. In much the same way, FIFA handles its international
schedule and qualification time table.
These local guys are looking relevance for now.
