King has played 38 matches @ 29.66.
Athanaze has played 11 Matches at 27.09.

So King has played twice as many matches.

These guys may hold spots for too long if they don't start producing at a higher level, with the dreaded expectation or potential label.

Sadly, King is a one performance per series player. Athanaze it now seems has had one good FC season and that is it for him. He is just not getting to terms with international standards. The most concerning, however, is Hope who has not performed at all on this tour (or on the last tour of Australia). Is it that he is playing too much substandard franchise cricket and so is not able to raise his game easily to international standard any more? Another tour to SL and the same result as always. This is why we need to do some A team tours to SL to get our players more familiar with those conditions.

Stop with your bullshit . This is International cricket and professional sports, the highest level. If you are selected it means you perform at the regional level or you’re a special talent. Athanaze is neither . He didn’t even Dominate at list A or first class. You saying only his 11th match. My question is how many more?

What about players who score debut 100/50 ?
Did they needed 2yrs in international cricket to adjust.

Don't understand your point here? If a player scores a debut 100 does that make him a quality player?
