I knew someone who always said 'Viv Richard.' 'It's RichardS!' said I. This continued ad infinitum.

Bringing Roots & Strokes in this discussion......lowers the quality of debate and not expected of you....

Brook, has enviable average of 59......many cricketers also had similar stats but falter to deceive..... Jimmy Adams at @75 but ended in 30's....at present Saud Shakeel has average @57....at one time Kyle Mayers average @50.....Even Darren Bravo & Edwards @50...

Brooks till date has batted mostly in flat pitches...look totally at sea against spin.....most of his runs has come against Pakistan in flat deck....I doubt,he has techniques to survive against best in alien conditions..

One year from date....say December 2025.....we talk about Harry and his runs.....5 years is too long a time, in modern day test cricket.....if he continues in same way....he becomes a legend.....but.......

My experience over the last 15 years has shown me that practice is the key to improvement.
Seeing people over 50 taking their hobbies seriously, taking lessons and practicing daily, competing on the dance floor and at golf events, shows me what it takes to compete.
In cricket, you still need to put the work in.
Our amateur programs and the lack of facilities in the region are the major problems with our players' development.
There is also a need for competent coaches.
