No disrespect to Clive Lloyd as I know he means well. Should this venture fail it will not tarnish his rich legacy.

However its all about the Benjamins baby!

How big are the fan bases for these teams?
Are they champions or past champions of their leagues?
What big name players they have on their teams?
Perhaps if you had invited TKR that would add more hype to the tournament? Successful tournaments are about rivalries and when it comes to regional T20 no rivalry is bigger than TKR vs GAW.

Just a thought, maybe TKR and SLK were invited and passed on the opportunity since these teams are owned by foreign entities who make the decisions. It would make sense to find out first if they were invited.

I agree that TKR vs GAW is a the biggest rivalry and will bring in the $$$ ....

What sort of following does SLK have? Besides a few thousand in St. Lucia ah don't think anybody else give a damn about that franchise.

Lahore is a big franchise... de likes of Afridi, Rauf, Rashid, Weise, Fakhar, Van Der Dussen, Raza etc. ... even Shai Hope plays with them.

The Bangla franchise, just a few names that played with them last season... King, Pooran, Barbar, Shakib, Maehdi, Pathirana etc.

I'm sure they gonna get even bigger teams as the tournament grows.

In reply to anthonypSLK may not have as many followers as GAW or TKR but they are the Champs and should have gotten an invite based on that alone.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a Rum Shop so most of what is said here should be treated as the views of fully intoxicated posters. But really? Guyana is having a cricket party. It is their event. They are spending the money. But some of you have taken it upon yourself to dictate the invitees. Truly amazing. All we know how to do in the Caribbean is to tear down each other.

clive loyd created the greatest team in the history of team sports breds. he has made mistakes, like any man, but his legacy will not be tarnished by this tournament, which quite frankly is a decent idea, i just think the teams involved, with the exception of lahore and hampshire are lacking in quality. quite frankly i'd have explored getting a second t20 blast team before i go with rangbur riders and victoria. but its a decent idea

Bangladesh got millions of fans... it's all about the money champ.

They crazy in Asia for cricket... Lahore and that Bangla team most likely got more followers than the other teams in the tournament.

Think the reason they went with an OZ state team is to build a relationship.... maybe looking at eventually attracting a BBL franchise.
