Was hoping King would drop down to 3 instead of playing Carty.

Seeing Lewis get his century today and bat through the innings shows me that it was a good move to bring him back into the fold. I knew if given the chance that he would return to form. What has damaged his progress is that he has often been injured and the timing has been during a good patch.

If it was a good move to bring him back, was it a bad move to drop him, especially for so long, in the first place?

Music, if there was one person that wanted to see Lewis back on the team, it was me. Do you remember when there was a fitness test for players but Cornwall was exempted? Lewis failed a fitness test and wasn't chosen as a result and when he finally was picked for a t20, his form had fallen off a cliff due to a lack of quality match practise. I also believe it would have affected his confidence as a player.
In all this, I don't believe he was given enough of an opportunity to prove himself and I want to see him back in ODI cricket more often. Look at his average and compare it to the rest of the team. He averages 38.98 in ODIs in 55 innings, with 5 centuries and 10 half centuries.

Lewis is a breed apart
Was fortunate to witness his 180 ish in an ODI against ENG at the Oval- retired hurt but he hit man to all parts on that day

Lewis failed a fitness test and wasn't chosen as a result

Not only that…..he was dropped even though a week or so before he failed that fitness test, he scored 90 odd and a century and was man of the series.

Now that he’s scored a century here, we’ll see if history repeats itself for the upcoming home series squad against England.

The fitness test is overated.... Rutherford never passed a fitness test in his life and he's scoring runs.

Maybe it's time they find a new way to access these guys?

Fitness is critical in pro sport today.

But fitness tests are just one metric to assess a player.

Performance should be the ultimate metric. Everything else should support that.
