Where is Yanic Cariah? Is he in WI plans?

He's a spinning all round option that could bat 7. Whatever happened to him?

Thankfully Cariah (and I have nothing personal against the guy….im sure he is a good person) is no longer in the setup.

Some players got opportunities when their performances didn’t merit it. He is one of them.

I'm just here thinking of all-rounder options for the WI ODI squad.

And on that note, whatever happened to Odean Smith. His List A and ODI stats are better than Shepherd, Holder et.al., although from only 9 ODIs

not too sure about that. In the last season, Cariah faded towards the end of the series and Bravo did a masterful job as captain hiding him and bringing him out against tail enders while Walsh got better and better as the series progressed. The main problem with Walsh is that he is now bowling enough. If in FC cricket as well as in Super 50 he was properly utilised by Cornwall, rather than Cornwall hogging all the bowling for himself, then he may become decent or at least not offer a long hop or two every single over. I hope that Walsh gets some good bowling under his belt in the upcoming series and then we can talk about leg spin options in the WI

What say you about Hayden Walsh,

There is no comparison

HAYDEN WALSH JR STATS

YANNIC CARIAH STATS

Don’t insult Walsh by looking to compare Cariah to him.

And I’m not a Hayden Walsh Jr fan

The only reason Cariah should be selected in the future is for his batting and even that is not consistent, he is and always was a part-time bowler at the first-class level

You simply touched a raw nerve of mine.....
Odean Smith is one of the players, I really back ....

A rare talent....a natural hitter and very good bowler....but as usual, totally destroyed by apathy of CWI.....same as Walsh...

Walsh, when break into scene was exceptional....played against Australia.... destroy single handedly....but got injured....then never picked....no rehab.... oblivion....now a shadow of former self.....

Hopefully, Both plays regional, gets back there mojo...

Yannic....well he did perform with bat and ball in regional....got a chance...but international performance was not as expected....he may play in regional.....who knows, what new selection policy has for him...

i think that Yannic is probably not international standard as either batsman or bowler beyond probably A team standard. Walsh for me is definitely the better bowler, fieldsman and when his confidence is up, he is also a pretty good lower order batsman. LI has to give him the opportunity to bowl long spells in the Super 50 if he is ever to come anywhere near his best again. I hear talk of Mansingh in some quarters but Mansingh has not yet shown that he can pose any sort of threat as a bowler.

Yanic Cariah didn't get the start that Hayden Walsh has been given and gets,Cariah always had potential to become a good allrounder, could have played for WI ODI or even WI red ball.Anyway we are giving Hayden all that Cariah never got, keep trying Hayden somebody likes you.

Series 2021 vs Aus....Walsh single handedly destroyed Aus and was Man of the series......but got injured....left to sides...now, totally self confidence destroyed...

https://www.icc-cricket.com/news/hayden-walsh-jr-leading-wicket-taker-in-t20i-and-odi-series

Three ODIs7 wickets at 16.00 with an economy rate of 4.14

Three T20Is
12 wickets at 13.75 with an economy rate of 6.87
Leading wicket-taker for the West Indies in both the ODI and T20I series against Australia

MAKING A MARK IN T20Is

Walsh Jr was also the most impressive bowler in the T20I series against Australia where he picked up twelve wickets in five games at an average of 11.66. West Indies were easily the best team out of the two as they won the series 4-1 and Walsh Jr was the Player of the Series for his strong performance throughout.
