Australia.

VVS Laxman will be the head coach for India's short white ball tour of South Africa. He will step in as incumbent national coach, Gautam Gambhir, will be Australia-bound for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The decision was confirmed to Cricbuzz by a top official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday. The four-match series was not initially scheduled. It was recently arranged between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa (CSA).

Part of it is that India is remodeling its side with the loss of two big ones, Puj and Rahane in the middle and Kohli has
not been as dominant recently so the relaative newer batters gonna face some acid test in the short run.

I think the batting will come good in Australia and if they have their main quicks, India will win in OZ who is
also undergoing some readjustments especially with the departure of opener Warner. BCCI will give Gambhir some time.
I hope they do.

Has a lot to do with playing on flat wickets in T20 - Gambhir on decline in Test batting
Speaking ahead of the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai, Gambhir said, "To be a successful Test cricketer, you see people like Virat, you see all the great players who've done really well in Test cricket for a long period of time, they've always had good defence. The foundation of your batting in Test cricket has to be defence. And then you start taking up from there."

"Probably has a lot to do with playing on flat wickets in T20," he added on the topic of a decline in good defensive game in Test cricket. "We need to keep tightening our game. But you will see probably going forward in future, we'll have the same issues with a lot of other teams as well. Because the more the T20 cricket is played, the lesser people will start defending," felt Gambhir.
