The American people know who she is now. She would not have Biden's baggage, although I thought it was totally unfair to Biden, having wrestled the economy, post-pandemic, from the basement Trump left it in to the position where the US has the best performing economy in the world.
Unfortunately, there could be no brownie points for Biden, as inflation continues to hit everyone in the pocketbook, worse so for people who live paycheque to paycheque and with fear driven into their hearts about immigrants coming into the country to take their jobs. It created the perfect situation to take out their anger on Harris and make the kind decision the majority of American took on Nov. 5. So when that's the case, issues like democracy and abortion, even the crimes of Donald Trump took a backseat to people's economic concerns.
But don't let us fool ourselves and Democrats especially must be willing to take advantage of the blunders the new Trump administration are sure to make. When the grift in the Trump family is too apparent to ignore; when the Palestinians and Lebanese continue to die and their lives are unbearably upturned; when the rich around Trump are seen to reap the harvest from their proximity and the suckers who voted for him see no change in their economic situation; when he encourages Bibi to attack Iran and Iran blocks the Strait Of Hormuz, driving oil prices to $350US per barrel; when rights of increasingly more people are being trampled upon, and as more serious cases of the impact on women's reproductive rights, including unnecessary deaths, hit the headlines and affect more families cross the political divide; when the free press and those critical of soft-skinned Donald is set upon; when all of these things settle upon the consciousness of the average American, then and surely then, the majority of Americans will come to their sense and recognized the erorr of ahving returned Trump to the Whitehouse. I say, Kamala Harris must not be afraid to pick up from where she left off and go for it again in 2028.
It will be Harris vs the new MAGA Messiah JD Vance., and many of those who voted for Trump detest JD Vance. This assumes the Yellow One doesn't become a dictator from Day 1. Then, all bets are off and we are in a different situation, possibly without elections.
