“[…] What they (Cricket West Indies) have given Alzarri Joseph is a couple days of rest [and] a slap on the wrist… This was coming for a long while… He has obvious problems with his anger and aggression.

“The other point I would like to make is that he has been feeling the building pressure, because he is not king of the rock anymore…”

FULL ARTICLE

The part highlighted in BOLD is a curious comment to me.

Is Reds implying that AlJo is threatened by his fellow pacers?

Reds better be careful here.

I can recall that during the HHGS era he was a resident of the Islands. I don't think he can afford to be declared persona non grata.

Reds just expressing his opinion.

You should respect it.

Watch for VOR and others attacking Reds now,
for expressing his profession opinion.

I think it could be more that he's telling him that WI has more bowling options.
However, I really thought that those guys would have shown up in the T20is. Cause the results clearly show we are missing in the bowling department.
In red ball cricket yeah for sure.
But let's see which version of Alzarri we gt back. If he bowls like he did in the 1st spell of that match in which he was suspended England in trouble.

To add to that, it's good WI have options now we just need them options to grow up kinda fass.. Cause this 2 nil result I wasn't expecting that.

The only decent bowling attack we have is in red ball cricket

Our bowling attack is below average in BOTH ODI and T20 format.

The handful of antiguans who made it to the world stage have a history of misbehavior. Azarri banned for indiscipline, Sir Vivian clash with a English journalist plus the crying of Lara and Hoops lol, Ambrose called for pelting, he and Benjamin allegedly in gunplay shyte, Devon Thomas banned for match fixing, Allen Stanford life imprisonment for Ponzi, finally Roberts the big fisherman. lol

Richardson is the one decent chap. Start up courses on etiquette and proper conduct by Richardson for his countrymen are recommended

Maybe CWI is afraid to take tough actions, because when they do, we have people who come to the defence of the players and go out of the way to justify their bad behaviours, no matter how extreme they are. Try, just a little constructive criticism if not satisfied with their progress, and you could be branded a hater. The CWI and selectors today are crowd pleasers, and are not willing to take no strong actions against any player. They have witnessed the wrath bestowed upon those before them who tried to nip it in the bud. I am almost certain that if CWI had the guts to take very strict disciplinary actions against Alzarri, they would have been criticized and called "eediot, slave masters." And if those refrains became the popular ones, the same author would be joining and criticizing the Board. You see, it has become just a popularity contest.

How can the West Indies cricket team be expected to be a competitive force if one of it's key bowlers/ vice captain cannot handle
the " pressure " of seconded field placement . That he throws his hands up , turns his back and walks off the field.

Why are we surprised that Team WI are where it is on the international standings if this is the kind of mental fortitude that exists .

Ambrose called for pelting

Richardson is the one decent chap

And also Ambi wanted to beat Steve Waugh in the QPO - that one was a classic though

It was also Richie "the one decent chap" Richardson that was the peacemaker out in the middle big grin

he isn't. but he does have a point. i know quite a few people have expressed the opine that alzarri seems to have some anger issues. its not simply aggression. ambrose was aggressive, but the most laid back person off the field. So too was walsh. in fact all the wi pace men, save tino. alzarri looks troubled not aggressive

that's one incident and that in a real pressure cooker situation.west indies actual had been unbeaten in a test series for 15 years. and australia was a side that was proving to be a lot more difficult than they had been before the tour and during the odi series and willing to do anything to win, legal and illegal. and WI were already 1-0 down with only the current test and one more remaining. alzarri playing for a side that can't get any worse and they're not fighting for any major titles. the only thing is that he has competition in the fast bowling depo, that's the only pressure.

followed by saying taylor's aussies were the worst aussie team he's ever played against(after losing to said team and becoming the first WI cappo in 15 years to lose a series); he wasn't wrong, the 91 aussies were a better team but were still traumatized by fearful west indian beat downs in the 80s but time and place
preceded by asking patterson to bowl with SA needing 80 runs on the final day despite the team deciding to bowl out ambi and walsh before they even stepped on the pitch

Reds is a good Man but I would ask him to let us move on. Aljo has been the only player to commit himself full time to WI cricket so all those Johnny come latelys will be tested in due course.
