In reply to sgtdjones I think there's a Jamaican chic living there & is in love with that place. Naturally, beautiful place. Supposedly, low crime & all the above...but, it's too socishitistic oriented for me! Btw, ah hear there's more sheep than people there!!?

I was surprised at the amount of Caribbean nationals living in New Zealand.
A few small towns have Caribbean restaurants .
When West Indies teams tour New Zealand, Caribbean nationals welcome them with a party .
NZ population of about 5.3 million people - it now mean there is just 4.6 sheep per person.
Less rednecks in New Zealand...

I have been here on 5 occasions, my wife is from New Zealand.
Yes , its a beautiful Country , that goes crazy about Rugby.
Cricket is in the background whenever New Zealand plays rugby.
Dallas Cowboys tried to sign Lomu , he refused saying he will play only for New Zealand.
Jonah Lomu is not only often considered New Zealand's greatest rugby player, but often the greatest rugby player of all time.

Jonah Lomu
Born in Pukekohe to Tongan immigrants from Haʻapai, Lomu grew up between rural Tonga and South Auckland. His childhood in Auckland was marked by local gang violence, and his mother nurtured his interest in sport
Standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing 119 kilograms (262 lb), Lomu was famed for his unprecedented speed, strength and agility
was exceptionally large for a wing player. At the age of 19 years and 45 days, Lomu became the youngest All Black player and could run 100 metres in 11.2 seconds
At the end of 1995, Lomu was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney disorder.
Lomu underwent a kidney transplant on 28 July 2004 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Lomu made his first appearance in a competitive match since his kidney transplant on 10 December 2005.
He was a lover of languages. In addition to English and his parents' Tongan, he also learned to speak in French, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese and he had a working proficiency of Russian.
On the morning of 18 November 2015, Lomu died unexpectedly in Auckland from a heart attack linked to his kidney disease.

Sarge Help me here nah as I m not so good at Mathematics these days. I getting ole you know. Please elp de le man out
Let's table the facts then see if the math is mathsing.
Fact 1. Flight from Sydney to Toronto is 22 hrs:
Fact 2:
You are leaving from Sydney at 6:23 am
Leaving for Toronto today
Friday, November 15, 2024
Sydney NSW, Australia
Fact 3.
You responded to Vix at
11/15/24, 12:18:35 PM
Now there is a 16 hrs difference between TO and Sydney, so if you leave Sydney at 6:23am on 11/15 you should arrive at TO at 12:23 on 11/15.
Now that does not include delays, time spent at security etc, yet you are able to post at 12;18 on 11/15.
You see my struggle with the math her my T&T Friend?
In reply to WI_cricfan
eg...6:23 a.m. Friday, in Sydney NSW, Australia is

The Crabs in the Barrel Mentality: Understanding the Dynamics of Envy and Self-Esteem in the Caribbean
The Caribbean, a region known for its vibrant culture and rich history, paradoxically harbours a phenomenon that can undermine individual success and collective progress: the "crabs in the barrel" mentality. This metaphor describes a situation where individuals, instead of supporting one another, try to pull each other down, much like crabs in a barrel that prevent one from escaping. The roots of this behaviour can often be traced back to deeper issues such as envy, low self-esteem, and a lack of individual accomplishments. It time to explore the psychological dynamics that fuel this mentality and its implications for personal growth and societal advancement.
Envy is a complex emotion that can arise when individuals perceive others as having advantages or successes that they themselves lack. In the Caribbean context, this often manifests as a reaction to anyone who dares to stand out or achieve greatness. Because of historical and socioeconomic influences, envy is not just a passing emotion; it can become engrained in the social fabric. Many people believe that the competition for opportunities and resources can lead to a competitive atmosphere where people feel threatened by their peers' success rather than encouraged to work together.
This emotional response can lead to defensive behaviours, where individuals resort to attacking those who seem to be thriving. This is particularly evident in social media threads, where anonymity can embolden individuals to express their jealousy through harsh criticisms or derogatory comments. It becomes a misguided attempt to elevate their own self-worth by diminishing the accomplishments of others. Such behaviour not only reflects personal insecurities but also reveals a broader pattern within the community that discourages success and reinforces negative comparisons.
Low self-esteem is often intertwined with the crab mentality, creating a cycle that is difficult to break. For many individuals, their self-worth is contingent upon external validation, and when they perceive others as succeeding, it serves as a painful reminder of their own perceived failures. This can lead to a hostile environment where, rather than celebrating the accomplishments of others, individuals feel compelled to tear them down.
In the Caribbean, socioeconomic inequality and a colonial past that has left many people feeling disenfranchised can worsen the effects of low self-esteem. A mindset that prioritizes survival over success is fostered by the societal narrative, which frequently places more emphasis on survival than thriving. As a result, when one individual surpasses this standard, it may cause others to feel inadequate, which may lead them to act in ways that attempt to undermine that achievement.
Accomplishments play a pivotal role in shaping individual identities and perceptions within a community. When people lack personal achievements, it can foster feelings of resentment towards those who have made significant strides in their careers or personal lives. This resentment can manifest in various ways, from passively aggressive comments to outright hostility. In some cases, individuals may feel that by attacking those who succeed, they are somehow levelling the playing field, but in reality, they are only perpetuating a cycle of negativity that undermines the potential for collective advancement.
Moreover, the Caribbean's cultural emphasis on communal ties can sometimes lead to a reluctance to celebrate personal success. Instead of viewing success as an inspiration, it can be seen as a threat to the communal identity. This is especially true in smaller communities where everyone knows each other, and any deviation from the norm can be met with skepticism or disapproval. The pressure to conform can be immense, leading to a reluctance to pursue personal goals for fear of alienating oneself from the group.
To overcome the insidious effects of the crab mentality, it is essential to cultivate a culture of support and encouragement. This starts with recognizing the importance of individual accomplishments as stepping stones towards collective success. By reframing the narrative around success, individuals can begin to see the achievements of others as opportunities for inspiration rather than sources of envy.
Communities can benefit from fostering environments that celebrate diversity in achievements, encouraging individuals to pursue their passions without fear of judgment. Educational institutions, local organizations, and community leaders play a critical role in this transformation.
A sobering reminder of the difficulties in the Caribbean region is provided by the "crabs in the barrel" mentality. We can start to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of progress by comprehending the psychological dynamics of envy, low self-esteem, and the significance of individual achievements. It is time for the Caribbean to adopt an empowering culture that elevates rather than devalues people by celebrating individual accomplishments as group triumphs. The journey towards this transformation may be challenging, but with conscious effort, it is not only possible but imperative for the future of the region.
The ability to understand and absorb the aforementioned will allow you to see yourself.
The above is part of what I wrote as a first-year university student; some of the tangent observations are shown on this thread.( rewrote certain parts)

In this wold one has to be aware that long term use of certain types of medication use can lead to characteristic symptoms . Dose adjustments are periodically prescribed and can cause a harrowing time for patient ,staff and family as the consumer adjusts to the new regimen.
Antidepressants , mood stabilizers help maintain an aura of normalcy...but...it is not an exact science.
Flights of fancy , delusions of grandeur/ self importance , normally harmless by themself , especially in minors and very young adults . In adults however, these are cues that some sort of intervention is needed, especially with the more "accomplished" non crab adult.
Sympathy and tolerance most often has to be meted to those in strife .
I wrote the above before 11:16am with tangental recollections
Some of my work from previous years
Pathological lying, also known as pseudologia fantastica (Latin for "fantastic pseudology"), is a chronic behavior characterized by the habitual or compulsive tendency to lie.[1][2][3][4] It involves a pervasive pattern of intentionally making false statements with the aim to deceive others, sometimes for no clear or apparent reason, and even if the truth would be beneficial to the liar. People who engage in pathological lying often claim to be unaware of the motivations for their lies.[5][6][7][8][9]
Pathological lying
Other names
Pseudologia fantastica, mythomania, compulsive lying
Specialty
Psychiatry
In psychology and psychiatry, there is an ongoing debate about whether pathological lying should be classified as a distinct disorder or viewed as a symptom of other underlying conditions.[3][4] The lack of a widely agreed-upon description or diagnostic criteria for pathological lying has contributed to the controversy surrounding its definition.[4][7][8] But efforts have been made to establish diagnostic criteria based on research and assessment data, aligning with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).[10] Various theories have been proposed to explain the causes of pathological lying, including stress, an attempt to shift locus of control to an internal one, and issues related to low self-esteem.[8][6][7][9] Some researchers have suggested a biopsychosocial-developmental model to explain this concept.[11] While theories have explored potential causes, the precise factors contributing to pathological lying have yet to be determined.
Definition
edit
Curtis and Hart (2020) defined pathological lying as "a persistent, pervasive, and often compulsive pattern of excessive lying behavior that leads to clinically significant impairment of functioning in social, occupational, or other areas; causes marked distress; poses a risk to the self or others; and occurs for longer than 6 months" (p. 63).[10]
Characteristics
edit
Defining characteristics of pathological lying include:
An internal motivation for the behavior cannot be readily discerned clinically: e.g., long-lasting extortion or habitual spousal battery might cause a person to lie repeatedly, without the lying being pathological.[3]
The stories are presented in a way that portrays the liar favorably. The liar "decorates their own person"[9][12] by telling stories that present them as the hero or the victim. For example, they might be presented as being fantastically brave, as knowing or being related to many famous people, or as having great power, position, or wealth.
Some psychiatrists distinguish compulsive from pathological lying, while others consider them equivalent. Others deny the existence of compulsive lying altogether; this remains an area of considerable controversy.[7][9][13

Even the people who engage you are questioning the validity of your post.
Funny thing is you claim you baiting people, then get nasty when they call you out.....why would you go off the rails if you are not bothered by picong?
If you want to call this picong, i call it disgust.
Your detachment from reality is obvious. You call for Arawak, the man who literally7 called you a low value poster.....thus setting the dogs on you.
You really think he did not understand it was going to be open season on you when he did that?
And you claim you are so enlightened.
Funny how everytime you are called out, you have a new hobby. Not too long ago i recall it being your dissertations....now it's a train set you been working on for years in your basement.
I believe at one time you claim you did charity as a hobby....
