15:32 Local Time, 19:32 GMT, 01:02 IST:
The toss has been delayed thanks to a wet outfield. There were showers and that has meant the covers are on. There is a bit of rain falling down now as well. There will be a bit of a wait.

Narper 2024-11-14 19:42:13

Romario Shepherd:
The way we executed with the ball, needs to be better. It is a big difference when you bowl at night. The toss plays a big part in the caribbean. Gives me a big responsibility as Andre Russell isn't there. Big miss for us. He can have a big impact with the ball and the bat. I have to pull my socks up for my team. The wind plays an important role here.

Narper 2024-11-14 19:42:43

Liam Livingstone:
This pitch will play better. We have had the conditions in our favour. We have taken wickets with the ball and been good with the bat. More of the same tonight. It is a very good pitch. There is bit more pace and bounce. A lot of the players have been looking forward to this part of the series. We do have a lot of depth. If we need them, they will come in. Rashid can come in whenever needed in white ball cricket. The last 6 months has been really good for me. I am playing to somewhere close to may best. Had difficult 2 years before that. Enjoying the game is very important for me.

Narper 2024-11-14 19:44:06

15:38 Local Time, 19:38 GMT, 01:08 IST:
The 22 yards has been concealed with thick sheets. It looks a little overcast. The crowd, though sparse in number, is hanging in there. We will definitely get a game. But too early to predict whether it will be a full game or not. But again, mother nature is beyond everyone!

sgtdjones 2024-11-14 19:45:39

....

some deeply bleak clouds over the hills and away to the sea, and apparently if those hit, we have problems. The outfield is already saturated by the recent rain.

Narper 2024-11-14 19:50:11

15:44 Local Time, 19:44 GMT, 01:14 IST:
Interestingly, there is no rain falling. But the covers are in place. Peeling them off, whenever it happens, will consume a few minutes as well. Just keep your fingers crossed. Windies have all to play for. They can't afford a loss as the series is on the line for them. Yes, the toss has played a major role. But they will definitely look to do better. Wickets in the powerplay has been a cause of concern for them. They have lost too many while batting and have picked hardly any while they have had the ball in their hands.

Narper 2024-11-14 19:53:05

Some news from the England camp, and it's familiarly bleak for Reece Topley. He has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against West Indies through injury, and is to fly home from St Lucia. Such cruel luck... so many injuries. He's going home lighter in the pocket too after his chair-smashing in Barbados.

Ah gorne ...

Narper 2024-11-14 20:34:31

England have won the toss and have opted to field

Narper 2024-11-14 20:37:06

Powell:
It's something we have talked about for the last few days, today is an opportunity to change that. It's about clarity, if you come out of the powerplay as England did, 70/0, the middle overs will be difficult. It's about starting well and the middle overs will take care of itself. We have a few changes due to injures - King has a niggle, Hope is in. Forde too has a niggle so Alzarri comes in and Hetmyer replaces Rutherford. [on Alzarri] He has been the spearhead of our attack, ever since I became captain, he will be vital, we will look to him not only to control the powerplay but also to take wickets.

Muddies will now cease their boycott.

Hety back in the team big grin

Narper 2024-11-14 20:37:46

Buttler:
We are going to bowl first again. Little bit of weather around and chasing has been good so far. Remember it being a very good cricket wicket, we need to start well, West Indies are a top side and we have to be right on it. We have had some near-misses in the recent past, we will start fresh, 0/0. We have one change - Rehan in for Adil Rashid.

Jofra Archer to Lewis, 1 run, wry smile from Jofra Archer as Lewis pulls and it's in the air but well wide and in front of deep backward square-leg, the ball plugs in front of Saqib, short of length outside off, Lewis pulls and does not get hold of it

Jofra Archer to Shai Hope, out Shai Hope Run Out!! Lewis has sold Shai Hope down the river. It was Hope's call as he turned this wide of square-leg, going to Bethell's right hand and he gets across and fires down the one stump on view. Lewis sent Hope too late and by the time the batter tried to make it, it was too late. A wicket gifted for England but that is superb fielding from Bethell. Replays show that it was an easy single as the ball was placed in the gap.

Shai Hope run out (Jacob Bethell) 4(2) [4s-1]

A wild hoick to a length delivery outside off, the thick outside-edge flies and Archer at third man bends forward as he is on his knees to take it reverse-cup. Saqib Mahmood can't control his evil smile. One more wicket for Saqib Mahmood in the powerplay in this series

It's dug in short and Hetmyer is on the front foot, gets too big on him, still he tries to pull and can only sky it, easy catch for Mousley who did not have to move an inch. Jamie Overton to Powell, no run, even Powell was not sure as he reviewed. He is now smiling even as England can't quite believe it. Sammy can't hide his relief as he smiles and bends down to place his face on a table in front of him. Actually Powell was walking off till he saw the UltraEdge pick up a spike. A lovely slower-ball off-cutter on a length on middle, Powell tries to turn to leg and the inside-edge saves him, otherwise he was right in front, Powell also had a word with Shepherd before going upstairs

Akeal Hosein to Philip Salt, out Bowled!! The drifter has cleaned up Philip Salt. Was a quicker one, angled in, the ball hit the deck and skidded on. Narper 2024-11-15 01:04:12

Saqib Mahmood | Player of the Match:
As a bowling unit we have had the mindset of taking wickets. We haven't held back with the ball, have taken in-roads in every game. Coming into this series, feels like my own. Good to express myself. Jofra and I are good mates, we complement each other well, we have done well in the last few games. I didn't really want to bat back then. Hopefully we do well in the remaining two games as well.

Narper 2024-11-15 01:04:42

Rovman Powell | West Indies captain:
I think it's a bit disappointing, we keep losing wickets in clusters and in the powerplay. It's a case of us of being our natural self. Saturday provides us an opportunity to turn things around. The middle overs get difficult when you lose wickets, can't go hard in the middle overs when you lose wickets. The execution (by the bowlers) wasn't proper in the previous games. Tonight the execution was better from our bowlers. The guys have to take more catches. Fielding is a collective effort, need to get better as individuals. Akeal has been a standout performer for us. England are a good team, we have two good games of cricket remaining.

Narper 2024-11-15 01:05:13

Jos Buttler | England captain:
I think it was a collective effort to win the series. We set the tone with the ball. Jofra and Saqib were excellent as they took early wickets. He (Saqib) is delighted to play for England again, he's among the wickets and you can see that. A few top players are not here, there's a competition for places. I think Curran played well and took the pressure off the other guys. Different players are putting their hands up, which is great for us. It's easy to not put emphasis on bilateral series, but we are delighted (with our performance) today. We just want to keep winning, it's a hungry dressing room, we are really looking forward to the next two games.
