Trump and his band of dunce uneducated supporters must be elated about the intention by Trump to eliminate the Department of Education. This might create another generation of dumber Americans, go figure!

On the contrary it may create a better education system with more accountability if the gov't gives a 30k tax credit/cash grant per child jk to grade 12 Per yr.
Create standardized exams per grade and reasses and grade institutions annually and publish the results
Subject areas should not be weighted equally with STEM subjects weighted heavier.
More than half of great merica is uneducated?
Makes sense now!

What is very interesting; the lefties/liberals who use to claim the high ground are Turing out to be nastier, more mean spirited and more irrational than the rigties......look on this site..all across MSM and social media. A colossal breakdown is leading to too much irrationality.
For me both sides are effed up anyway especially in their support for genocide or finding ways to excuse their candidates of choice behavior for such. I have my popcorn.

Do you recall the Private Prisons 'initiative' some 30 years or so ago?
This proposed destruction of the Education system, and the fallout from the inability (of the uneducated mass) to procure gainful employment, will lead to an overabundance of inmates thereby putting such a strain on the public prison system that the Private Prisons will be our only option. Then, of course, you'll need to be very careful how you walk or drive out there because, educated or not, you might just be a candidate for private prison dwelling.

He’s waded into a subject he knows very little about. Giving 30G/yr per child to “private K12 is simply transferring money from rich to poor. Those private institutions will underpay teachers and pocket the rest, eg Those charged with accommodating stolen children and immigrants charged more per day than some Four Seasons but gave kids cold hot dogs, foil wrap for blankets and paid “caregivers” minimum wage.

you have the right man to reform health
don't you
It’s not a coincidence why the standard of education is higher in the Caribbean than US, especially elementary to high school.
