WI cricket so low that usual suspects no longer comment

Our regional sport of cricket has sunk so low in performance, players and popularity that the usual posters on the board, are reluctant to even comment on the performances these days. We have lost many posters along the way, all the friendly rivalry and bantering seem have gone out of the window. Even VOR no longer waste his goat mouth on them. When die hard WI fans no longer care, does not augur well future of this regional sport. What should be the approach of CWI?

Yes. When collectively, we have scored one test century so far in 7 tests in 2024 and not a single batsman averages even 30 for the year, things are really bad. In fact they are horrible!

First up, get rid of the Big IDIOT imposed name and revert to WICB(C).

Really ? Only 1 Ton in 7 Tests ? Was not aware of this. Where have I been ?
Horrible is right.
Bangladesh is no pushover. They have three good pacers too and a couple spinners who can do damage
despite the absence of Shakib.
I don't see them losing this Test series either.

The SA test series did it for me. We escaped the first test, and only had 263 runs to make in the 2nd innings with two days to make it……and still lost.

You are spot on. With this lot it would be a great accomplishment taking a Test into the fourth day. Not one of those listed could sniff any other International side. We do have a long way to go.

WI cricket, the important format, is doing well. They could beat any side on any given day!

I feel the same. That loss in Guyana has hurt me deeply as it was a game that any other team playing at home would have won after the bowlers did all the hard work. It just shows hope truly hopeless WI team is at present.

The question is: How do we teach our batsmen to value their wicket, bat for long innings and not throw away their wickets?

Hey Slipperyfella! Left me out of your propaganda! VOR still supports the REVO! We got a date tomorrow!

I remain faithful in a West Indian Test revival in my lifetime! No better time than to start vs Bangladesh!

In regards to the rest of the board probably they are getting old and have other priorities like pension, will, arthritis etc.

For once I actually agree with you. Old Age Security and Canadian Pension Plan are more important subjects at this point big grin
