How is Bumrahs action clean

brians_da_best 2024-11-23 04:27:27

There seems to be a clear jerk at the time of release, they say it’s his wrist, but surely warrants a closer look?

No one’s even talking about it which is strange

very clean.

Jasprit Bumrah, you beauty! First ball he bowls on Day 2 he gets the most important wicket of the day. That is a 11th five-wicket haul in Tests for the great man. Raises the ball to acknowledge the applause. Started round the wicket to the LHB and bowled a short of length delivery into the pitch, got some bounce, got some away seam movement too and forced a poor push away from the body and it's a regulation outside edge to Pant. Bumrah has his arms aloft and jogs with a smile to suggest "that's how you get it done." Another huge dent for Australia. Carey c Pant b Bumrah 21(31) [4s-3]

Do you understand cricket?

If he was playing for one of the teams outside of the IND/AUS/ENG bracket, I believe we would have seen questions raised.

Bumrah action as dirty as akhtar and lee’s. I never thought it was clean from the first time I saw it and I don’t think so now. That being said, the only person who said that akhtar and Brett lee’s actions were suspicious was Andy Roberts. When Lee nearly killed Alex Tudor at Perth in 2001, everyone was silent. But bumrah a chucker, undoubtedly. Bumrah’s action dissent even look as clean as Jermaine lawson’s and Mohammed hasnain, both of who were called for chucking

I wanted to put this question to bed for a while now.

Bumrah is arguably the most unique fast man in all of India's history- they are historically the poorest cricket nation when it came to fast bowlers. He is not done yet, has troubled all batters wherever he has played. He has an ugly action. He is an icon in India and they give stories of him in every headline- look at CRICINFO today, you wouldn't know WI v Banhgla test match is on.

Unlike many Indian cricketers, he doesn't skin bleach or seek white Aussie validation and he maintains good old school Indian values, it appears he is not aligned to the Shiv Sena policies, you see for example the coach wearing the threads in his wrist- some alleged it is a symbol of Hindutva ideology, he is much like Ashwin, a good person.

His action remains questionable. Had he been a national of a lesser country, he certainly would have been chased away from the game- the Aussies & Brits are harsh and when they team up, you goose is cook, ask Zimbabwe or our own Gabriel.

I trust the science that say Bumrah's action meets the requirements and I enjoy his success. I hope the same is given to bowlers from others lessor countries so a future Narine won't have to be scared to represent his nation and an Ajmal would not have been chased out.

Dias all.

While we are on that subject, how about Shaheed Afridi, Hassan Mahmud who is on tour in the WI now, their actions are not much different from Cooper who played for Trinidad, and he got disqualified several times

anthonyp 2024-11-23 12:59:18

Get over it people... nothing is wrong with Bumrah action!

It's hypertension! He just happens to be one of the few persons in the world with that ability.

Added to the hyperextension he flicks his wrist at the point of delivery... same for guys like Steyn, Afridi etc.

The dude is unique.

Afraid is a Pakistan cricket poster boy. I’m not entirely sure all of his deliveries are clean but Pakistan did threaten to pull out either the 2003 cwc or 2004 champions trophy if shoaib was called or something to that effect. I haven’t seen enough about Mahmud to make a judgment but his action looks decent. His hand rotates somewhat when he’s delivering but I don’t think it’s illegal

You cannot trust the human eye, from the sheer number of names called in this thread thus far.

Just trust the tests and move on.

He is a dam chucker oui! lol

RP Singh had hyperextension and this was determined by an analysis of both his and shoaib’s actions after the shoaib had taken a five for against inndia in 2006. Bumrah action doh look hyperextended at all. Dude elbow does look crooked and hyperextension can only be determined by a test. And that whole hyperextension argument is controversial itself. Murali came into conflict with umpires because of his doosra, which was found to be hyperextend delivery. Many commentators openly said that they thought the ICC changed the rules to accommodate him and promptly cut it down once he was gone as exemplified by every practitioner of the foists after him being called: ajmal, Narine, johan Botha.

BeatDball 2024-11-23 14:43:30

I'm suspicious as I think he occasionally pelts! Once, he got Shai out & as Shai was walking off the pitch, he gave bumrah a hard look as if to say, 'bannuh, you just pelted me out!'

smile My phone does that to me a lot. I say "in" and the phone types "and". And believe me when I say that I have tried to pronounce the word "in" as proper as I can smile

Bumrah has been accused of pelting for several years now. I remember a few years back when Bish brought it up in the commentary booth during a India test in the Caribbean and Gavaskar responded by taking offense at the mere suggestion. That guy Bumrah is just a freak of nature. His elbow can extend further than the elbows of mere mortals like us.

embsallie 2024-11-23 19:35:37

On day one of the test, the commentators were having a discussion about that very subject, while not downright calling it chucking.
I do not care what cricketing country you from, just watching Bumrah's bowling action should make your eyes blink twice.
The first words out of your mouth should be WTF!
