It hasn’t?

What was day 1 and 2 in particular?

1 day and 3/4 to score 450 runs?

Nearly 225 runs per day?

SMH……

Good old fashion test cricket, Boycott comes to mind. Did you complain then?

Different time.

200 to 225 in a days play was considered a good return back then.

Today 300 in a days play is considered average at best.

And BTW…..Boycott was boring as hell. Even his own teammates hated batting with him.

Nobody came to the cricket ground to see Geoffrey Boycott bat. Not even his family.

Ian Chappell was on a cricinfo panel discussion in Mumbai on what became the verge of Lara’s test retirement. And the panel consisted of himself, Tony Greig, Ravi Shastri, Sanjay Mandrekar and Ian Smith. On the discussion of the great batsmen, Chappell said Boycs could not be an all time great because in his words, he was a selfish bugger and played every innings for himself. Graeme Gooch, David Gower, two very great batsmen
