Allyuh doh realize Bajans doh care about winning. They care about slots for bajans on the side. Hoss I remember the Wt20 in SL which we won. First second round game against England and Charles scored 80 something, rampaul took back to back wickets in the first over and we won. Some Bajan call sportsmaxx zone to say the side had no bajans and Simon and lance had a fit, lance was ever the diplomat but Croskill let de man have it.

The reasoning on these threads I find amazing and justifies the state of our cricket
He may not the the flashiest
He may not be the most elegant
He certainly has flaws and weaknesses
He is pedestrian in accumulating his runs
A trait Clearly not appreciated by the public
The fact that he has played 86 consecutive test matches has more to do with an empty cupboard than ability
But show me an opener in his era with better stats
He is a player that has made wisden test team of the year
Afghanistan remains the only test nation he is yet to score a hundred against maybe ireland too, not sure
A time will come when will have to thank him for his services however that time is not today

No one should have to break it down like that, but we are West Indians
So many players have turn their backs on test cricket chasing franchise money is another reason why he plays 86 uninterrupted tests, always making himself available and no injuries, no complaints during that time in this era should also be acknowledged

Like praising the least productive employee in the company, who has been given every tool and lots of love to improve himself, but still hasn't, who would have otherwise been terminated, but for a serious labor shortage.

1. He came to work every day, never late.
2. He never sought employment somewhere else- (because no one else would hire him)
3. He neve complained (only because he has no moral authority to complain)

The employee is the one who should be grateful.
1. He was kept employed
2. Got a good salary
3. Got benefits
4. Was treated with dignity
5. Was given respect.
6. Was not forced out, despite consistently poor performance.

He could make no other test team in the last 5 years as a batter in any position much less an opener.

Some of these posters are crazy- From all my years following cricket, Brathwaite was never ever judged by the above characteristics as the misguided lead poster claimed.

Fans just wanted a consistent and an average performer with the bat, he has been way under average, to justify the golden opportunity given to him all these years and to have at least been at the top of his game as a strategic captain.
