A wry smile from him a minute ago. And in his defence, I've never seen that guy drap any himself not even the differcult ones. In fact I don't think I've seen the guy miss- field even a ball in the outfield.

You can practice all you want but playing live is a different cup of tea. I do not think some of these guys are natural slip catchers.

Aljo handled it well as he is used to it by now. There needs to be a stat for dropped catches off a bowler and catches by position. Fielding needs to be recognised for its match winning capabilities.

In the Clive Lloyd era, they developed specialist fielders at slips, gully and short leg. These guys are all new. Fielding in the slips is not easy. And our slips have not been accustomed to sensible fast bowling that was accurate down 4th and 5th slip. Hopefully as the bowling improves so will the slip catching.

Who drops a catch off of Alzarri Joseph's bowling in the second test?

Althanze dropped a routine slip catch off Alzarri. If you’re in the slips and wishing for one to come your way from the angle where the bowler is working for, that was it. Perfect height …truly catchable.

The thing about the Athanaze drop is that he dove in front of 1st slip who probably would have caught it comfortably.

He saw DeSilva do the same thing, dived in front of first slip and took the catch. So if you’re gonna dive in front of your slip partner you’re simply saying you’re comfortable in talking the chance with ease. That a dolly one in the lap of first slip, you go for it then come up with it.

In Clive Loyld times I just remember the slippers gobbling up most chances at least 90% of them..
If they dropped one it would be a sharp chance. I recall if Loyld dropped a dolly for instance it would be considered a major moment where even the radio commentators react in a crazy way to witness.
I remember watching the 1984 test series in England where David Gower as most left handers were considered as easy prey when driving outside the off stump to balls pitched up going across their bodies. Clive set the slips for it and Gower was taken there more often than not. Ok once he knicked it ..Taken.
Alzarri set up a left hander to that same tactics and it was easy to see it was the game plan and Athanze just spill it like it was expected of him to do so.

Bangladesh's batters looked ripe for the picking but the West Indian fielders let their quicks down.
Alick Athanaze dropped Shadman on 15 when he drove in front of first slip but couldn't hold on.
Captain Kraigg Brathwaite also dropped Shadman on 35 at cover.

Then came the comical drop when Jayden Seales drew Shahadat's edge with the batter on 8.
The ball burst out of Athanaze's grip and went towards Kavem Hodge at first slip, who spilled the rebound, which then fell out of Athanaze's reach as he tried to collect to the ball.
