Overall, the mixed results that were to be expected from a side that boasts a strong pace attack but a weak batting line up. Ultimately, their downfall was that only one batsman managed a half century across the two innings in the Jamaica test match and even that was only a 55, hardly enough to sway a match. Of great concern must be the captain and vice captain, who are both very short of runs. Despite limits to their technique, some of the batsmen managed to get decent scores but generally, they are found lacking when facing either quality seam, swing, pace or spin.

The continued fine form of Jayden Seales gives West Indies a fine young attack leader, to go with the two quicker Josephs and the vastly experienced Kemar Roach who once again, proved his worth despite his advancing years. His first innings battling 47 with the bat was higher than any score made by Brathwaite, Carty or Da Silva, which say more about the failures of the top order than it does about the valiant efforts of Roach. Going forward, something must obviously change, perhaps in the leadership and slow ball approach at the start of the innings, perhaps in the batting line up and likely, one or two faces in the top order too.

With the bowling, the future looks brighter than it has done for years...but the batting and slip fielding in particular, needs work and lots of it.
