It speaks to the shame of our leaders - Jamaica should be further ahead in its development, people shouldn't be running to Mexico in an escape bid!

I feel ashamed too. Much shame. We as a people have a good record of
seeking better overseas through correct and legal processes from before
the building of the Panama Canal.
That some of this generation have to resort to this is as you pointed out
a shame to our leaders.
I even read a story of a small child of a Jamaican woman who perished
while making the trek with the mother.
And i repeat, if the Trumpster does as he said he will the Leaders of
Kingston better prepare for an incoming flow that may even include non-Jamaicans
as it is also known that some from other countries have claimed to be Jamaicans
just to be in a better place when adversity comes by way of deportation.
Jamaica must do better and can do much better with the development of its people
as it seems the only outlet for substantial employment available to them is mainly in tourism industry.
And the irony is that those working in that sector are hardly benefiting as they should
financially and other areas. Not to mention that the beautiful resources including beaches
are being sold off to overseas interests.
The shame is real and magnified.

Shame indeed but since I've been in this country I've met aA Yardie who came through Puerto Rico late '70 early 80's learned that a primary schoolmate came through 'the border' a d to The East Coast the '80's
