1st ball duck
0.1
Mitchell Starc to Jaiswal, out Lbw!! Mitchell Starc strikes first ball! He's pumed up. 140.4kph, pitched up delivery, angling in from over the wicket and swings away late, Jaiswal misses the flick to get pinned on the front leg adjacent to the sticks. It pitches around leg and crashes into the sticks. Jaiswal had a long chat with Rahul and rightly decided against the review. "You're bowling too slow," were Jaiswal's words to Starc in the previous Test. Falls for a golden duck against the same bowler today. Perfect start for Australia! Jaiswal lbw b Mitchell Starc 0(1)

big crowd
Mitchell Starc to Shubman Gill, FOUR, 142.3kph, that made a cracking sound! Full delivery outside off, Gill - with a big stride forward - plays a gorgeous drive to send it through extra cover.
india 15-1
Rahul, mek them pay.
7.1
no ball, Boland strikes first ball! Oh dear, he has overstepped. 133.3kph, back of a length nibbling away outside off with good bounce, Rahul is lured into poking at it and nicks off to the keeper. He started to walk off but a no-ball saves him.
7.5
Boland to Rahul, 1 run, edged and dropped! Probing line and length. Extra bounce from a length, hint of away seam movement, the line forces Rahul to play at it and all he manages is an outside edge. Khawaja dives low to his right at first slip but fails to hold onto it. Another reprieve for KL

Great leveller.... zero first ball.....

Drinks are on the field now!
It's been an eventful start to this pink-ball Test. Starc removed Jaiswal for a golden duck, KL Rahul played out three maidens against Cummins, Gill has been positive from the word go and Boland has troubled Rahul (caught off a no-ball, dropped at first slip).
india 36-1

Bumrah.
40.1
Bumrah to Smith, out Caught by Pant!! A strangle down leg. Smith can't believe it and shakes his head as he walks back. He's absolutely distraught. Bumrah, meanwhile, has a big smile. An innocuous length ball angling down leg, a shuffling Smith looks to help it on its way with a flick. Only manages to get a faint tickle on it and Pant does well to dive to his left and catch with both hands. Smith c Pant b Bumrah 2(11)
36.1
Bumrah to McSweeney, out Caught by Pant!! Bumrah strikes! 136.9kph, in-angling short of a good length ball that straightens ever so lightly. Good bounce on it as well and McSweeney gets squared up as he defends from the crease. An audible outside edge and Pant gobbles it up with ease. For the third time in as many innings, McSweeney has been dismissed by Bumrah. McSweeney c Pant b Bumrah 39(109) [4s-6]

Bumrah to Khawaja, out Caught by Rohit!! Good catch at 1st slip. Is that the last ball of this spell? A short of length delivery on the fifth-sixth stump line, moves away a tad, Khawaja hangs back to defend, does not cover it properly, the ball takes the thick outside-edge and flies to Rohit's right, it was travelling and he took it well two-handed. India and Bumrah make the breakthrough. Khawaja walks back shaking his head. He edged it despite taking the bottom-hand off. Should have left that as the line was wide. Khawaja c Rohit b Bumrah 13(35) [4s-2]

this fking madness

Ashwin to Mitchell Marsh, no run, the third ump does not even go for ball-tracking. Poor from the third ump.
Ashwin thinks it is plumb if it has hit the pad first. Rohit asks him if it is in line and then goes for the DRS. This is very close to both pad and ball. Has Mitchell Marsh jammed the inside-edge on to pad? Or has the ball hit the pad first? The third ump is looking at it. Given not out as there is a spike on Snicko.

Non issue. When they checked the replay, impact was umpires call who ruled not out in the first place.
The not our decision was never going to be overturned.
