Tens of thousands of people are fleeing Syria's third-largest city Homs as rebels claim to have reached its outskirts, just over a week since they launched their lightning offensive.
The rebels seized Hama to the north on Thursday, a second major blow to President Bashar al Assad who lost control of Aleppo last week.
The leader of the Islamist militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani, told residents of Homs "your time has come".
Rebel forces began the biggest offensive against Syria's government in years last week.
They have been advancing south, and Homs would be the next stop on the road to the capital Damascus.
Where is Yemen in defense?

Syria is one weird situation. Remember how Hillary and McCain lent quick support to one group only for a vid to emerge with the extremist leader eating the heart of the enemy he just killed?
US mischief to distract Russia from Ukriane..playing with people's lives again.

Humanity in our lifetime has deteriorated. All about egos and destruction of the belief of those who hold a differing opinion. Mankind no longer willing to converse in an exchange of ideas with their fellow man. Greed, power and superiority over others is currently the mode of holding high office.

I hope they know the earth will recover, it is us that won't..
Fools I say !!
Will Syria smile again?
After more than 13 years of war, hundreds of thousands of people killed and millions displaced, the 24-year rule of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is over.
Large crowds on Sunday gathered in the streets of Damascus to celebrate, after opposition forces took control of the capital in a stunning advance that saw them seize several key cities in a matter of days.
Assad is a rabid dog who killed hundreds of thousands

That said, Christians should feel greater pain!

Now we have Turkey, Israel and the U.S. involved militarily. Only the disenfranchised will continue to suffer in Syria. Nothing changes.
Russia sure outfoxed them..the 'rebels' are answering to them now . Imagine being so respected and powerful that your friend's enemy made a pledge to you. The Power of Oreshnik ? Lol.

Thanks to Israel Assad has been deposed. This couldn't have happened without the annihilation of Hezbollah, and without US blessings.
Nothing will really change in Syria. The rebel leader who just took over is a terrorist thug himself. Syria will remain what it has been for the past 2,000 years, mayhem and upheaval with brief stints of calm.
Looks like Putin wanted a respectable exit from Ukraine with some territorial gains in the east...and he let go Assad...with oil rich areas not under Assad control...he didn't have much to offer...And Iran was tired of of doing USSR role by bankrolling bankrupt nations......

I don't think the country will get any credit for this significant and important act!
