Run on or not on?

WIForever 2024-12-12 17:52:49

Run on

Halliwell 2024-12-12 17:52:59

In reply to Curtis

Run was maybe on, but would have been tight .

Even before that, no means no

WIForever 2024-12-12 17:53:23

I prefer if Athanaze ran himself out.

Curtis 2024-12-12 17:54:18

In reply to WIForever

Nah, too tight to risk it at this stage

WICFan 2024-12-12 17:54:30

Would have been a close call.

WIForever 2024-12-12 17:56:40

Bowled like a dunce

velo 2024-12-12 17:57:31

Athanaze is a joke

Now his dismissal is very wreckless.

This youngster should be kept far away from white-ball cricket at this time.

NYCGURU 2024-12-12 17:59:19

In reply to velo

He obviously do not value his wicket.

…Nor Brandon’s!!! big grin

imusic 2024-12-12 18:16:59

That can happen when coaching instruction is to work on reducing the number of dot balls by rotating the strike and be on the lookout for quick singles and turning one’s into two’s etc.

For that to have been a successful single, Athanaze would have had to been setting off almost on contact and even then it would have been tight.

Athanaze was never interested in the single so Brandon’s fault.

Teachable moment.

The most disappointing thing about it for me was King’s reaction. I get his frustration. It’s frustrating for sure. Exacerbated by BK being in good form. You never want to waste form.

But no matter how frustrated you are, no excuse for showing up your partner like that. And he continued with it after his initial reaction.

Not good. Especially to a junior colleague.

dayne 2024-12-12 18:18:36

It was a premeditated shot, a wrong shot for that ball.

Athanaze is a joke

That run out and King’s subsequent reaction definitely had a part to play in that.

Brerzerk 2024-12-12 18:24:05

One question, is that a run King/Lewis would've attempted? One person cannot take a run so understanding your partner is key?

Windiesfan78 2024-12-12 18:28:14

Sorry to say, but the fact that Athanaze only made 7 rather than batting on is very disappointing. King would have been the one to bat deep into the innings. Anyway, we have already won the series so I wouldn't dwell too much on this.

imusic 2024-12-12 18:28:30

In reply to Brerzerk

Maybe. Can’t really say. King and Lewis would have more familiarity with each other than a different combo.

Run outs happen. I wouldn’t go too deep into analysis.

Just learn from it and don’t show up yuh partner.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS big grin

I understand the dot ball reduction talk
The commies and us won’t leave it be, with good reason

However

King had already made 1000 runs in the over; just relax yuhself and wait till next over… you is not Koli
