They just seems to be a different feel to both team set ups
There is an expectation from the LO teams, people do expect these teams to do well, even in 50 over cricket a weak point for the past decade.
The test team feels like they will come from behind, as if they are still trying to find their way as to how to play. It lacks that spark of belief
I am not one to say we need to make wholesale changes right away, but sammy seems to be doing something right and should be emulated with the test team

Test team vs Limited Overs team
In reply to conman
how could any test side have belief when their top four average under 35....and they're specialist batsmen, not allrounders
In reply to Jumpstart
you arent wrong, but i think its more than just numbers
the batsmen dont feel like they have batting personality, its like batting for batting sake.....Hope has an aura about him that once he is in the game is still on, king and lewis seem like one if not both will give you a good start, you can create a narrative about the entire LO team
The test team just seems to be, i hope kraigg can bat whole day and stable the innings from falling apart....if that dont happen then we need a rescue effort from somebody.......it reminds me of the tailend of gayle and shiv's test days

You miss di man thesis sentence
Sammy,... hahaha. Even lying that since 2014 WI has been faltering in ODI moreso than the test team which is a big, big, damned lie.
We win test matches vs top teams even thoulosing series but men claiming that is significantly worse than beating low tier team in ODI. FAake News Rules!

yuh mean the side always have clean the mess kraigg and co help create. When we won in brisbane, kraigg made 4 off 25 balls in the first innings, da silva and greaves came in at 64-5 and through shear will, joshua in particular totally removing the hook from his repertoire and got us to over 270. and kevin st clair made a masterful 50 on debut. in the 2nd innings, again kraigg could only get to 16 from 54 and it was up to mckenzie, hodge, athanaze and greaves to get us to a defendable lead. the biggest problem with the test side is kraigg and i make no apologies about that. a most unproductive cricketer.

. i realize i doh see him in front of the cameras again. like CWI tell him it does look unprofessional to draw stick men on TV
If the Test side had Lewis, King and Hope in it then you would be more confident of competing against the other sides.
KB
Lewis
King
Hope
Carty/Athanaze/Hodge
JDS/Jangoo/Andrew

not hope. nothing has indicated that he'd survive the short ball barrage that he will inevitably face on his return to whites. KB should never be a sure pick. his position, just purely based on performance is even more tenuous than da silva or athanaze or hodge. Jangoo is one, sherfane for sure(has better technique and wrists than the entire test team. if he is willing to play, he's in. greaves of course but i want him purely as a batsman in the middle order and my allrounder would be Mootie. he's proven that he is a solid batsman with most if not all the shots. And once motie is out there, you know you're getting 100%. case in point, he and da silva came in at 106-6 after holder had made a duck in the second innings of the providence test vs SA, and they brought us within sight of the target. we only lost by 40 runs

There is a Bim youth player(21 y.o) that has a 40.00 fc avg with 3 tons and a ton in OD, no one seems to mention him in future plans.
He cool and smooth and bowled 3 ways.
In reply to tc1
His time will come. Pity there is no 'A' series coming up,

KB is safe until Tage, Campbell or whoever can put some pressure on him, this is why I would like to see Leeis play tests, I think he would take the attack to the opposition and he isn't afraid to let dot balls tally up.
He would put pressure on KB's place.
In reply to WICFan
they need to seriously look at that A series thing eh. yuh can't tell me there isn't money to have A team tours on a consistent basis

I been meaning to come and make a similar post on here. The ODI team seems transformed. I was wondering if a change in the Test team leadership may have an impact on the performance,
I feel like the core of the test team is not as God awful as their performance against Bangladesh, they may just need the right person in charge

Nobody here cares about Wickham.
He is from the wrong country.

Test team:
Brathwaite
Louis
Carty
Hodge
Athanaze
Greaves
Da Silva
Motie
Alzarri
Shamar
Seales
ODI team:
Lewis
King
Carty
Hope
Rutherford
Jangoo
Greaves
Shepherd
Motie
Alzarri
Seales
The only crossover between the two sides comes from the bowling attacks: Alzarri, Seales, Motie, and Greaves. Carty the only batter playing both formats. King, Lewis, Jangoo, Rutherford could easily play both formats, as well as Shamar. Our test batting needs an overhaul.
Lewis for Louis, King for Hodge, Rutherford for Athanaze, Jangoo or Imlach for Da Silva. Tage comes back if Brathwaite fails in Pak.
The numbers don’t lie
Bowling and batting averages vs other teams in Test cricket
Our test woes will not go away until more ODI players are made to play tests.
