Santner to Pope, out Caught by Mitchell!! Santner strikes in his very first over! This is a really good delivery. 86kph, drifting in from around the wicket, pitches on a good length and then grips and turns. Pope is forward to defend but the length doesn't allow him to smother the ball. There's some extra bounce too. It catches a thick outside edge very high on the bat, and Mitchell takes a good catch at slip low to his right.

Pope c Mitchell b Santner 24(42) [4s-5]

Santner to Stokes, out Lbw!! Stokes misses the sweep and is given out LBW! That looked really straight. But the England captain takes the review because they still have three left. Tossed up just outside off, pitches and turns in slightly, Stokes goes for the sweep but is beaten. Impact is around middle and ball-tracking says it would've crashed into leg stump. Wickets in consecutive overs for Santner and England are in big trouble.

Matt Henry to Atkinson, out Caught by Santner!! Spooned to mid-on! Good length ball angled in on middle and leg, Atkinson looks to work it through the on-side but the ball holds up and straightens. It takes a thick leading edge and it's an easy catch for Santner moving forward. England eight down.

Santner to Brydon Carse, out Caught&Bowled!! Third umpire called into action for a bump-ball check. Oh that's not a bump-ball. It's straight off the bat and back to Santner who gets his third wicket in as many overs. Tossed up around off, Carse steps out to drive, doesn't keep it down and Santner takes a sharp catch around his chest.

Brydon Carse c and b Santner 1(cool

35.4
Matt Henry to Potts, out Caught by Phillips!! And Henry wraps it up! Full delivery around off, Potts looks to swipe across the line but there's a hint of outswing which is enough to catch a thick leading edge. It goes over point where Phillips runs back and takes a good catch, judging it nicely as it comes over his shoulder.

Atkinson to Latham, out Bowled!! Chopped back on! Short of length outside off, Latham looks to cut but only manages a thick under-edge that crashes into the stumps. It's that kind of pitch with a bit of variable bounce and the ball holding up here and there. Have seen this kind of dismissal a few times already.

Saif: "Rain here and prospects in Brisbane don't look great either. How excitedly I was waiting for the matches." One of our scribes stationed just down the road from the Gabba reported a little while ago "no rain... yet" but you're right, the forecast isn't great there.

Assuming NZ doesn't get bowled out, get the lead to 500 then declare.
