Da Silva better get his act together

Allyuh know i am a big supporter of Joshua. And that we can all agree his struggles with the bat of recent times can at least be partially blames on the extreme fragility of the top 5 men above him. but Jangoo is also a WK. It will only be a matter of time before he starts to compete for josh's spot

Why Jangoo cyah compete for one of the specialist bats spot?

Is not like they doing any better than Josh

I think he’s too chubby to be a test match wicketkeeper that needs full fitness to prevail. I do see him doing a Jeff Dijon making the team as a batsman first and then taking over the gloves when his fitness improves.

I have said that all the time. Josh is one of the few batsmen on that side who knows where his offstump is. Put him higher up the order and give the gloves to somebody else

he knows where his offstump is but clearly not the middle stump or the leg stump cause he keep getting lbw big grin come on are you serious at least try to be objective

Two things can happen at the same time: Emir can compete for a spot on the test team as a specialist batter and a wicket-keeper at the same time.

Josh's wicket-keeping is where I have the problem with, he has not been improving and it could be his physique.

I believe his batting is decent relative to the team's front line batters.

he has a problem against spinners yes.......so does the entire team.

let us not rush Jangoo into the test team as we did McKenzie and Louis. We saw the results from those two!. Nevertheless, I agree that Josh needs to improve radically with both his batting and keeping. I would not mind if Imlach is given the Pakistan tour (remember him! next in line, not Jangoo) and Josh takes the FC season to sort out his batting and keeping. If Jangoo has another standout FC season in 2025, he will be competing for a batting spot with Hodge and Athanaze. I have been thinking that if the 2024 trajectory continues, Carty, Jangoo, Greaves and Springer will probably form the middle order. I hope that Keemo Paul can find his mojo in 2025 as I believe that he is potentially the best bowling all rounder in the region and I would love to see him bowling with Shamar, Jayden, Aljo and Motie. My preferred test squad for 2025 (after the Pakistan tour):
Brathwaite
Louis/Campbell
Carty
Jangoo/Hodge
Greaves/Wickham
Imlach/Josh
Keemo/Springer/Sinclair (if Guyana will let him bowl a lot of overs during the coming season for us to see how his bowling is coming along)
Motie
Aljo/Blades
Shamar
Jayden

Rod Marsh’s record? Carly Engineer wasn’t slim either. Sure there’s been other chubby keepers too

Allyuh good yes. Who was chubbier than Ridley Jacobs?

Raggs 2024-12-15 05:46:39

To my memory Jacob was solidly built. Similar to the present test wicket keeper De Silva . As for Rodney Marsh and say Clyde Walcott, different era slower cricket the rule of 90 overs a day wasn’t implemented back then.

Azam Khan is more than chubby, the guy is huge ....

You are a hoot. You simply cannot make this stuff up. Move him up the order because he knows where his off stump is. Lol

In reply to Jumpstart Josh has been very disappointing with the bat. WI need runs from a wicketkeeper-batsman. That's all. sad

In reply to Jumpstart Josh is a wicketkeeper who bats well...just like a specialist batsman. So, he has to up his batting. I can't simplify it any better.
