Today we jog down memory lane to the West Indian world record chase vs their Nemesis Australia.
Where were you?
I know I was at home in the BVI when I should have been in Antigua. I decided to miss this game after the previous year's high scoring stalemate WI vs RSA. I regret to this day but did watch on Tele as Drakes and Banks brought it home. Tense stuff with Sarwan and Chanders tons and the best bowling attack of the time failing to finish the business. What a match!

End of Lawson's career too but he served us well.

Sarwan was a lovely player to watch on the go. Sarwan/Lara at the crease was must see TV.
Big cuss out between McGrath and Sarwan
Glenn McGrath was desperately trying to turn the game Australia's way. But having been belted for 21 runs in two overs McGrath could contain himself no longer - see the result in this clip.
Mcgrath loses his rag as Sarwan retaliates.

In a meeting with the Great OS Arthur - He stopped the blinking meeting so we could watch the cricket

In hindsight, knowing your powers, it was probably best that you stayed far away from Antigua

previous test at ARG was versus india in 2002. was a high scoring draw. WI played SA in 2001 at ARG ad lost despite lara making 91 in the 2nd innings

Remember that match well
I remember it.
Made West Indians all over the world very happy.
Sarwan and Chanderpaul were a little bit under the radar (to put it nicely) in West Indies cricket.

He was my hommie
I had just come back from college back working at TDC.
They used to have TVs on in different departments as they do now but more now in news.
But yeah would sneak way every now and again to go watch it. My boss back then, used to go Antigua to watch cricket, he might have been at the match.
I saw the record chase it was amazing. Ended uo staying by a bar watching it with many other people who just left work and figured out if they had tried to make it home to see the end of the match they would of missed it.
