Daren Sammy has been appointed as the head coach of the West Indies men's team across all formats. The announcement was made by Cricket West Indies (CWI) Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe during their quarterly press conference in St. Vincent. Sammy will officially take charge of the Test side from April 1, 2025, while continuing to lead the coaching duties for the white-ball teams.

we lost both the odi and t20 series in SL. it is a decline in our performance of the last visit by a wi side to SL where we shut out SL 2-0 in the t20 series. But i not even trying to argue the rationale behind this appointment because their is no rationale. jobs for the boys

It might be anyone!!!! Removal of Braithwaite as captain is very long overdue.....CWI should have released him long back and allowed him to concentrate on his batting ..... Dynamic Boards around world, did so..... Roots, Williamson,Babar,....these great players ...quit captaincy......but dumb Braithwaite continued which caused his performance to go extremely down south...
The team for Pakistan may be trailer...for The change...

Trying to find rational behind CWI appointment......is an insult to rationality itself....
Which provision allows such selection without any due process????
Keeping that aspect apart and since Sammy has been appointed....it would be interesting to see the changes in team... Pakistan tour could be precursor....There was meeting held with Bravo....what transpires.... Braithwaite captaincy goes, whether he stays in team....many questions.....
Please do not search for RATIONALITY of all things!!!

IMO Coley was wronged, the CWI should have handled the news about Coley leaving better. He will still be coach on the Pakistan tour next month, how much could he motivate the players who need motivating when they know he is leaving? Going by the performance of the team, Coley did okay with what he had to work with, he coached against full strength teams with not the best WI team, although I like the job Sammy is doing, the team he is coaching has better players and many of his wins came against weakened team of India, South Africa and England.

If the players are not motivated to perform in Pakistan, then they are seriously at fault mentally. It is an audition for the coming era, all hands on deck and get down to work!
