Sammy is a joke

The Joker gets rewarded with more work.
The biggest fraud perpetrated on West Indies cricket, unqualified coach!

Watch we win. some crow we will be eating.
In reply to natty_forever
Win or not does not change the fact that he is still not a qualified coach.
Greaves was in form

Carty also
West Indies T20 team is the most aged team.....

I went to the game because my Nephew had tickets to the Party stand. I checked out from Sunday when I saw Fletcher in the starting eleven. This is an embarrassment to fans who truly love Windies cricket. I will not waste anymore time by attending Thursdays game. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse.
In reply to NYCGURU
I believe they are making Fletcher eat a food. I just can't think of any other reason for his inclusion.

Sheer skuntery. Motie to blame for the loss cos he got out for a golden duck?
Lewis, Hope, Rutherford, Hetty, Russell - we can only win when these matchwinners are present.

Why blame Sammy?? How much coaching is needed to chase 128??? The problem is that we did not blood any new players for 2024 while other teams were doing it as all we wanted were some cheap wins. As soon as others elevated their game, we started heading back to the bottom of the table. Water finds its own level.

yuh pay for dem tickets.....why do that to yoursel?

Am retired and there are not a lot of options as far as entertainment other than bar hopping on a Tuesday night. Got to see some friends from my playing days in New York so all the elements were in place for a fun evening out. The product on the field was the only disappointment and it saddens me because we had better options on the bench.

lol yeah

I would blame Sammy because he should know that Arnos Vale is an notoriously poor batting wicket. You need more batsmen and less voopers to get through the match
The ODI team could have been shifted over to the 20/20 series. At least that team seemed to have players who could play balls on Merit
In reply to PalsofMine
You did not need fletcher or charles in this side if your goal is the next world cup if pooran is to sick to take the gloves which i heard a commentator say add jangoo to the side to wk and greaves to open which he does in fc limited overs cricket.
Sammy is the selector and coach the buck stops with him nobody to hide behind
In reply to velo
he hiding behind de ppl dat appoint him
In reply to velo
Exactly! If you are looking to prepare for the next world cup, then you need to blood players like jangoo.
In reply to Jumpstart
You posted old man river dictator Gonzalves opinion of the Shallow one who likely appointed stick man shyte hound scammy(SSS) as maximum leader. A deep dive by WI to the bottom is certain . The spanking by Bang is starters. Princess Haley, DD, Campbelle, Joseph would have chased down 130
In reply to velo
You are way to logical Sir. For starters Sammy certainly did not cover himself with glory by being a part of selecting the eleven that took the field for these first two games. It was not only criminal, but it lacked vision for the future of our cricket.

Trying to find a rational reason for Fletch’s inclusion
We know that Pooran came into the series not at 100% due to illness
We also know that Shai Hope isn’t in the squad due to going to Big Bash
Perhaps Fletch was chosen as a “logical” replacement for Pooran behind the stumps.
Despite his advancing years, Fletch is seen as a T20 specialist these days. He has a lot of experience in the format and regularly plays on the T20 franchise circuit.
If the idea was to find someone to sub for Pooran behind the stumps, and Hope wasn’t available, who else would be a viable candidate?
Not Josh DaSilva
Not Tevin Imlach
Jangoo? Who hardly plays t20 cricket but does have form?
Johnson Charles who has previously performed the role?
Who else we have?
I don’t know if that was the thinking behind the decision, but from that perspective, I get why Fletch was selected.
In reply to PalsofMine
Why are we blaming Sammy? He is now the sole selector and head coach, so who else is there to hold accountable? What was the reasoning behind selecting Charles and Fletcher? Coaches involved in the regional system for more than ten years should be thanked for their service.
Starting with Springer at the BCA and all his cohorts.
These guys are lifers
In reply to Logic
He had Carty and Greaves ( even Jangoo) and an opportunity to build a squad for the WI with reserves behind Hope and Rutherford. Going back to Charles and Fletcher was retrograde and demoralizing.
Where is Mayers? Howcum he can't make this squad? When I see McCoy I tell myself Mayers can bowl the same four overs and bring more to the lower order batting....even the Trinidadian Hinds brings more to the table than McCoy
I am trying to figure out how did Scammy got promoted? We not going are not going anywhere with this fool. NTM, the grifters at the top.
it is the end of the year and end of a series. I cant disagree that Sammy, as selector, bears some of the blame but to me, it is the system by which we rely on glorified club cricketers because we have not been allowed to have our own domestic T20 league to develop players that also bears some of the blame. We need to see the back of Charles and Fletcher and Russell for sure. They have nothing further to offer WI cricket. McCoy needs to play some longer format cricket to regain form or try to sell his waning skills on the franchise circuit. He cannot cut it internationally any longer. Pooran and Powell should also be on notice to produce or make themselves unavailable (through being dropped). Next year, Sammy has the challenges of making over the entire T20 team, the batting of the Test team and the bowling of the ODI team. I think that is a lot but I suspect that we will see him getting together a cadre of the best batsmen in the region who will play all formats and those batsmen who only are able to play franchise cricket will find themselves being phased out.
In reply to PalsofMine
Only a West Indian sub-audience would “put Pooran on notice”
In reply to Halliwell
Are you sure about that? I am not doubting his franchise pedigree but my point is that this is not necessarily sufficient to succeed internationally. At the end of the day, maybe he is just going through a period of poor form as happens to all cricketers.
