Commentator said that WI has the worst RPO death bowling of all ICC top 11 teams.

So in addition to batting struggles, we also struggle bowling at the death.

How is Reifer a batting coach? No disrespect to him but he was never up to scratch as a batter. One just has to look at his stats which aren't flattering to say the least. What is Lara doing these days?

One doesn’t need to be a good former player to be a good coach

I agree music, however, one must be able to teach the basics to others. I never rated him as a batter and I believe that someone with more proven experience should be in the post. Why can't the majority of our players move their feet to get to the pitch of the ball. How about placing the ball in gaps and running between the wickets to decrease the dot ball percentage. How about the fast bowling? Is James Franklin teaching our players how to bowl tight lines and yorkers, rather than pitching up the ball to be slapped for sixes. So many questions but so few answers.

they had lara and sarwan for two weeks as batting consultants before the india series in 2019. i don't know what kind of miracles they expected them to do in two weeks and of course the series lasted less than the ten days allotted for the two tests

Maybe we should replace him with the one day squad batting coach who seems to have had quite a bit of success with the team recently. wink

Anyway great batsmen hardly ever make good coaches, especially the naturals like Lara and Richard. How would they quite a player through a batting challenge that they themselves would not not have experienced enough of to be able comprehend the challenge. Not advocating for Reifer, who Im sure we can improve upon, just questioning your rationale for replacing him with a Lara, who by the way, had a pretty mediocre showing with his IPL team

Mahedi Hasan | Player of the Series:
World Cup time we had lots of options, that's why I did not play. Good experience in the Global T20 and that helped here. I enjoyed bowling on this type of wickets, we planned before the series to bowl wicket to wicket. I know Pooran, played with him in BPL and other leagues, he is a tough batter for a right-hand offspinner but we had plans against him. We did not have a good ODI series but for the T20Is the boys were hungry and hopefully we will do well in the Champions Trophy.

Every team has plans for every player.

A player like Pooran even more so.

Sometimes plans work. Sometimes they don’t.

It’s cricket and life in general
