"Dire shortage": Elon Musk sparks MAGA backlash after calling for more immigrant workers

The last time they tried this Deportation thing, the Indian 'Engineers' packed up and left for to China. Now look what that has 'bought' us.

But not only the engineering sector will suffer from the deportation initiative, the Farming industry, whether livestock or ground provisions, will suffer equally.

I want to know why this first generation immigrant want to influence US policies so much, and why so many people are paying that much attention to him… who elected him captain of all things US. He wants to censure US elected official who supports policies he don’t like…we can’t control what he thinks, but we need to understand he is only supporting policies that feeds his interest……whats good for Musk is not necessarily good for the populous… let him go play with his cousins

Man a new year coming, stop the stupidity!

Musk like most humans will do what benefits them. In this case he is 100% correct. Yes there are 330 million people, but a lot of them cannot think beyond the current situation, that's why they voted for Trump. Musk bought an election and now he wants returns, that's capitalism! Taken to its extreme and without guard rails, all systems fall apart...capitalism is no different.

Even though I know better, I'm going to say that you make it sound like you're in agreement with the MAGA mass deportation initiative.

What I'm saying in the lead post is that if those 'engineers' are not available to us, then they're available to the 'opposition'.

The issue isn’t the skilled labour being courted by industries that need them.

The problem often is family reunification policy.

So you are an immigrant with skills that the country you migrating to needs.

You come and fill that need. But not only do you then apply to bring your immediate family (spouse and children). You’re now a gateway for the remainder of your extended family to migrate……regardless of the skills or lack thereof they may possess.

Granny and Grandad come over, they not speaking the language, they require health care, they not working so they pay no taxes.

It is the humanitarian aspect of immigration which is right and reasonable to do. But that is also where the most abuse and drain on the system occurs.

There are people I know who have a helluva lot more experience in this area and so I will not pretend to be an expert, but from my hexperience, while what you said sounds logical, it is a myth. Of all the foreigners (Indians and Chinese), less than 1% bring parents and grandparents. Regarding healthcare, I do not know where you get free healthcare except in an emergency.

In any event, the benefits derived from these foreigners far outweigh the assumed "drag" on the system.

Musk is not the only billionaire in the US with opinions. I don’t see any other demanding congressional expulsions over policy disagreements…nobody elected him… he and his folks ran away from South Africa when apartheid ended – guess what? Mandela didn’t mangle white people. the odor of human conceit and elitism permeates this guy… he is right – right for who? these are some of the things musk calling for

From 2005 to 2019 Refugees and Asylum Seekers turned a profit estimated at about $123 billion for US Federal and State governments.

Refugees and Asylum seekers contributed more revenue than they cost to the US government.

You are straying...

The topic is, is it right to call for immigrant workers? Forget who made the call, that's not important, what's important is doing what's beneficial to the country.

BTW, memba yuh social security...if yuh know what I mean.

you are right – I am conflating the message with the messenger – but I cant help that.
When the billionaire called Rep. Rosa DeLauro an “awful creature,” it was a problem. When he called for the Democrat’s expulsion, it made the problem worse.
I just cant abide “him” and his presumptuous interjection, irrespective of its saliency

Musk:

The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.

Take a big step back and FUCK YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.

I do not know why this is a debate.

The original immigrants were invaders who robbed, raped and murdered the natives.
Now the country cannot allow anymore immigrants.

The immigrants who are responsible per capita for more good than the people who invaded the country in the first place. Who excel in school. Who are paid less to do more. Who are mostly law abiding.

What a thing.
