India's former prime minister who is widely known for driving the country's economic reform has died aged 92 after a 'sudden loss of consciousness'.

Manmohan Singh was admitted to New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences late on Thursday after his health rapidly deteriorated at home, a hospital spokesperson said in a statement.
