dais what happen when hyper religious/political zealots have control of a sport....they destroy it. When factors outside of competence are the main factors influencing selection,. then decay is sure to follow. I could never see this beatdown taking place if dravid or kumble were still coaching and certainly not under an old school indian like Ravi Shastri. the side looks unhappy save bumrah and he is always smiling....that could also be for the cameras. i dunno how he kept the job after getting whitewashed......the bowlers, in particular siraj have regressed badly under his watch. Siraj's first fiver in tests was on the last ozzie tour. now he looks totally ineffectual

The issue comes directly from the top idiots in the BCCI. Kohli wanted to focus on the longer format and they replaced him only to adopt the same strategy. Kohli had that team in shape and with a much better record than when he was replaced for sleepyhead Rohit.

The only way out now is to retire a few older players at the end of this series and build around some fresh, hungry talent.
Until then, India will cruise into the number 4 or lower spot.

What Gambhir did..... unsettled the entire team..

YESSSSSS. from the time i see abishek nayar on that roster, i say gambhir tenure going to be a mess. nayar coached tkr for one season and for the first time(and since then, only time) in the history of the cpl, we didn't qualify for the playoffs.....in fact we finished dead last. gambhir and his team are quacks. i love morne morkel but if he is integral to gambhir and his band of quacks, then that says something about his credentials as a coach as well. in cricket, a good coach may not make a bad team good, but a bad coach can make a good team very, VERY bad
