Bumrah is a truly great fast bowler

Truly a great, indeed.

What if he was gifted with an Ambrose on the other end?
Holding the batsmen by the scuff!

Bumrah is pelting hard is ass.

I used to think so but it’s hyperextension. The elbow and the forearm are straight at the level of the shoulder during his release, which is within the rules

You are correct. The first time I saw him in England I thought he was pelting too. I called Michael Holding and asked him and his exact words to me were, “ no he just has a weird action, but he’s not pelting”. Remember, Mikey was on the ICC committee that rewrote the rules regarding pelting.
Bumrah is an excellent bowler, and i don't believe he is pelting. However, he is bowling in an age when batsmen are, technically, very deficient. Most modern batsmen do not use their feet, plus the bad habits of T20 and other shorter versions have made them more vulnerable. Bumrah benefits from those weaknesses, but Marshall, Holding, Garner, Ambrose, Lillie, Hadlee or Roberts, all very talented and wise bowlers, would have reaped great harvests bowling at batsmen in this age. Marshall's numbers would have been greater, and his average might have been 14 or 15.

Quite correct. Weird action but fair under the rules of the game.
What makes him awesome is that at the point of delivery he is closer to the batsmen as he has
shortened the pitch by more than a yard as against other bowlers.
Given his ability to swing both ways and generate bounce also make him a most effective
bowler at pace. Batsmen are forced to be committed to the front foot far too often
and is an added advantage to Bumrah.
Pelting ??? No way.

He is very good or excellent, the best of his era. But because this is arguably the second weakest era in the last 100 years, there truly isn't any great batters or bowlers who have emerged in the last 2 decades. Lots of exciting players for sure and test matches more often produce results.
Bumrah is a smart cricketer and seems very fit, but modern batters are extreme risk takers when compared to their peers in prior generations. In addition, Bumrah has barely any competition from among his fellow Indian bowlers, so he will more often than not, get most of the wickets for his side.
But agreed, he is the best in this era and is a game changer for India, allowing them to win matches away from India and one of the top 3 test sides in the world.
