Miller the many time regional bowling champion, has been selected as one of the West Indies coaches, specifically to work with our spin bowlers. When we consider the career of Miller who topped regional bowling for almost five years before he was even considered for even a look in, we all know that if he was from another island, this would never have happened. Anyway, congrats to him, he does have a lot of experience to share with our young spinners.

https://radiojamaicanewsonline.com/sports/miller-gets-his-first-international-coaching-assignment-with-west-indies

While we discuss the effectiveness of Miller as spin coach..... Shallow trying hard to please directors of different boards before President election in few months....

Appointment of Sammy in such haste...
Now suddenly replacing fielding coach Griffith with spin coach Miller.... although Franklin there as bowling coach..

These decisions are not cricket related but election related.....

Miller who played one test and 59 limited overs games for the West Indies, will replace Guyanese Rayon Griffith as assistant coach for the trip.

Griffiths was listed as one of three assistant coach for the Pakistan tour with his responsibility being fielding. James Franklin for bowling and Jimmy Adams, batting, are the other assistant coaches.

Guyana and Barbados not voting for Shallow....

Jamaica appeasement rather than cricket call...

Another island like where Ranjie Nanan is from?

Or another territory where Veerasammy Permaul is from?

Slippy did you see the OT over in the BPL? Yuh think Miller could turn him into a spinner? I don't think the pace thing working out for him.

When he did make the team it confirmed what we all suspected that leftie orthodox spinners who dont turn the ball but can bowl accurately will clean up batters in our regional cricket, but have little impact at the international level. The Courtney (We dont play draw cricket) Browne champion team was led by leftie spinner Winston Reid despite some top pacers still being around the team. Reid never got a look in for the Wi team, but rightly so. Hardly turned the ball but was still too goo for our regional batsmen

Im not happy with anyone of them we have a serious coaching problem in the west indies we keep harping on about how bad the fc system is and the players.but the regional coaches with all their fancy certificates get a pass.reifer keeps getting rotated around in diferent position coach ,assistant ,batting coach in the wi organisation despite a lack of tangible success.i dont know what qualifications sammy or adams have except having played for wi cricket.

Back to miller was he not attached to the jam squad?djd they get better? spin bowling is tbe hardest speciality and west indies have not produced many int quality in decades.

This is bottom of the barrel discount hiring they dont want to shell out for foreign coaches

Agree......that hiring a good international coach .... Should be one of the priority of CWI....

Mushtaq was spin consultant of CWI in 2019...

But this Administration West Indies first policy....
Then hiring Shaun Tait...now Franklin....

Now, Team has two separate bowling coaches..

WE DO NOT HAVE FIELDING COACH!!!
Totally non sensical....

Any comments...

So you are saying that Floyd and Rayon are victims of CWI election politricks? That will teach Conde and the GCB a lesson. Well at least Floyd and Rayon were replaced by coaches with Level III certificates smile

It seems to me that Shallow needs to secure the yardie vote in this year election, he feels that he has the Leewards, Windwards, andTnT by appointing another yardie as coach he might secure their vote in the general election.

I suspect that Shallow played a key role in the selection of someone without a Level III coaching certificate as West Indies head white ball coach. And we all know that past CWI Presidents have picked cricket teams.
