SAFFIES Want an extra test match before WTC
The smart thing would be to play about three 4-day matches against County Division 1 teams a month before the WTC to get acclimatized to the British conditions. At least one of those practice matches should be at Lords.
Even better would be to play a series against Poms.

The county teams will play under strength teams
Ireland or Afghan or windies would be more competitive plus we earn a significant match fee ($over 500K)

Man, I enjoyed the Boxing Day test between Aus/India but it hurt me to see the revenues that Aus would rake in as attendances were:
Day 1: 87k
Day 2: 85k
Day 3: 83k
Day 4: 44k
Day 5: 75k
Grossing 375k tickets across the 5 Days.
Not sure what the average price of a ticket was (and on day 5 they allowed children free and Adults for $10) but that 5 days alone was probably more than WICB's operating income for a year
And then the downstream benefits of Vendors and Memorabilia would trickle across the economy.

They vastly ahead of us
And our cricket is absolutely dead

Their under strength teams better than our strongest.

India A, Australia A and B and South Africa A ( back up pacers - Paterson, Bosch, Nortje or mabapka are better than what we have as a group)
