What has happened to commonsense?

I'm looking at the scorecard for the WI practice game and I cannot understand the logic of Imlach and Jangoo batting above Da Silva unless they are being considered to play above him. I would assume it makes more sense to give your first choice starting 11 the best opportunity to warm up. So why is Da Silva coming in at number 9 behind two back up wk who are unlikely to play above him. Next thing we all out and he's left not out after facing limited number of deliveries. Then he is put in a test match with little batting practice and we then wonder why he fails, if he fails. Your likely starting 11 needs more match time than those who will be warming the bench.

Guess they were planning a change in the guards.

In today's world it could be that a coach sees something Josh needs to work on and thinks it best to spend more 1m1 time working with him than sending him to the middle not knowing for how long

Why people got a problem with Silva batting late? Yall think it will make a difference if he comes in early?

Coming in early or late is de same thing... a failure is expected.

CWI is de only international board that gives the captaincy and VC to fellas who can't even buy a run.

So Silva opened the batting... got de chance to bat whole day yet he made his usual score.

Ah guess its still too late... lol

You tend to miss the point. Whether he fails or made runs is not the point. The point is that he will be the one in the starting 11 so give him the opportunity to bat. It does not mean he will score a hundred but give him the opportunity to warm up before you give opportunity to those on the bench.

Additionally, if they were going to have him open it would have made more sense to have him open in the first innings. Asking him to keep wickets and then open the batting after keeping didn't make sense.
