That's how it's been for some years now. WI haven't participated in a Champions Trophy since 2013 and haven't participated in a ODI World Cup since 2019.

Its a serious indictment of WI cricket that past winners and runner's up of both the CWC and the champions trophy can't even qualify for the tournament.in two of those tournaments, WI players were players of the tournament....sarwan in 04 ang gayle in 2006.......................... if you want a referendum on the stewardships of hunte, hillaire and dave cameron, look no further than this. the roots of these failures had their genesis in those two administrations.in two of those tournaments, WI players were players of the tournament....sarwan in 04 ang gayle in 2006
